I wasn't initially going to get this expansion pack due to me not being too fond of what it has to offer (based on the information revealed by officials). Then I thought.

Patience is a virtue. Having said that, I do not know whether I will get this expansion pack or not.  This time I opt out to wait and see. There is nothing better than having people share their experience and opinions and staying out of the water all this time, in my opinion.

The new info is cool, but I'm still undecided. I think playing with magicians and things would be awesome, but I'm still unconvinced about the social aspect of it. But even as I'm typing this, I know I will probably get it. I'm just that addicted.  ::)

Being involved with circus (even if it is via my kids!) I'm looking forward to the acrobat and Twin2 wants me to get a Sim to learn roue cyr (that ring one Sim was spinning in).

Being an old timer I'm not actually into the socal networking thing myself. Having said that, I love Sims and this XP will be a great addition to my collection.  I also could see myself interacting in game with some of the people I admire on this site.  I can't however see myself offering blind invites or accepting them.

Well yes I could. But I don't know if I will lol. We still got a few more months til it comes out, so I got a little time before I make that decision. Although like I said, I probably will get it, I'm just that addicted.  ;D

That's what usually happens to me. And there is always something new that seems nice enough to add to my game! So I'm starting to lean towards getting it (althoug I'm also still silently praying for seasons with every new expasion they bring on the market).

So far every expansion pack has had me interested from release. This one has failed to do so and I guess I won't be getting this one, unless I hear good reviews or something that make me want it.

Don't worry. When the time is near (and only the line on it's own sounds cool) one of us will open a topic where we can dump in our superdeluxeawesome Showtime picures to make YOU jealous. ;)
And than you will buy the game yourself. :)

When that time comes, I will not be going anywhere near that thread - my laptop can't handle any more EPs and so I'd just get upset. :P

I disagree, but I really see where you're going with this. I know you mentioned having played Sims 2, but did you play Nightlife? This expansion pack, almost sounds more like a Sims 2 Nightlife 2.5 or Nightlife Limited Edition than Late Night, because it has the return of the Karaoke Machine, Pool Table, DJ Booth and added social interactions. (I'm only giving constructive criticism about this EP) None the less though, I will buy this EP and give it a chance though, since I like having old concepts from TS2 made new again for Sims 3 (Pets is the perfect example to what I'm talking about: they brought back an old TS2 favorite EP, but made it new, by adding the ability to be the pet and adding horses into the game). So with this EP, I will be buying it for sure, but I will be waiting for EA to offer a good deal (price wise) on this EP. I will be waiting until EA offers a free SP if I decide to pre-order Showtime.

Yeah, I had all Sims 2 Expansions. It wasn't my favourite, I liked Apartment Life the most, call me odd, Lol. I don't feel like it's a Late Night No.2 anymore, I've read the info and it does seem different. It's just this sort of thing has never appealed to me and I don't want to spend what is now £25 an Expansion pack on something I might only use part of.

My opinions still haven't changed about this.
A lot of people on the official forum are not happy with it at all.

I'm really not sure. I'm a singer myself so it would be interesting to see it in sims, but I'm just not sure. I think I'll wait until March when my favorite TS3 reviewer gets it, watch the review, and continue from there.
If at first you don't succeed, call it version 1.0.

Wow, Showtime looks like a pretty trendy expansion pack! I think EA has a certain target audience in mind, here. I can just see the board meeting: "Alright folks, what do kids these days aspire to do with their lives?" "I dunno, clubbing? DJs? Pop stars?"

Late Night is one of my favourite expansion packs, and I'm hoping Showtime will be just as good. I guess I'll need to go to more night clubs for building references, though.  ;)
