So my questions are: what else does it add?
And what new occult creatures might it add (kind of a necessity right? Lol)

No mention of occult creatures yet.  For your other question, I suggest you read the info in the link and in the first post.

I have a problem with people saying 'this should have been added with LN'. I remember all the issues, Bridgeport is too big, the lagging and the game breaking scenarios that came from LN being a huge powerful EP with almost too much content. Now people complain that there is not enough content, come on guys be smart here.

Not every EP is going to contain a host of functionality, items or game play that will make everyone happy. This EP looks as though it is going to add a lot to the game, a lot of functionality, items that people have been begging for and new LTW that some have hoped for. We have little information to this point. EA enjoy trickling information to us to keep excitement boiling.

Lots of the functionality will need to be added as a patch, and honestly if they do that then I will be happy that people that may not be able to afford every EP will this time (hopefully) get something new for free and now they may not have to miss out on the totally new experience that EA is bringing to this popular franchise.

I absloutly agree with you KJ! I don't see how any of the content is related to Late Night whatsoever, except for maybe the return of the DJ booth and the karaoke machine which both came with their Sims 2 counterpart, Nightlife, (I have and play both LN and NL). I mean, those who don't have the chance to up their PC's (I'll have my computer upgraded for gaming purposes by then), will experiencing serious bugs and lags with the new town, assuming it's a city like Bridgeport. Realistically, there's no possible way you could fit all the Showtime features with Late Night. It would destroy all our computers before any of us could have a chance to have IF's and pets in our games.

Late Night feels modern to me and Showtime reminds me of th 80s & 90s for some reason. They are different.

I think it's a totally different ballgame than Late Night. I think both have a Hollywood type of big city feel to them. However, Late Night is more about a night on the town, while Showtime, is more about entertainment type of deals. Late Night is more LA or New York, while Showtime is more Las Vegas.  8)

This is precisely what I was trying to tell my friend during an argument over if this is like LN or not yesterday! xD

I'm also glad the SimPort thing is a little more cleared up now. It sounds good! I just hope the lagtimes aren't horrible and there aren't any horrendous bugs to go with it.. We'll just have to wait and see. :D I'm looking forward to this interview with one of the game designer people!

EDIT: Just read that forum link. I adore the achievement thing! I'm pretty sure this will be added with a patch, not the EP, just like the memories in Gen. I can't wait! :D

I think people are saying it's like LN2 because they thought DJs, pool tables and singers belonged in LN. I think ST feels like American Idol or America's Got Talent.  Of course I'll be getting it because I'm one of those people who likes whole sets, but I was hoping for something different.

Exactly. Bars without pool tables, bands without singers, clubs without DJ's, lounges without caraoke, and so many celebrities related to only film industry. Magicians and cirques would suit Generations better.
I'm waiting for seasons since base game - how naive I was to expect that they would include it in base game, and here, 2 years later there is still no weather in the game! Of course I'm dissapointed.
I am looking forward to more involving activities, which this EP might bring in. I tend to play adventurers and Amb professions so having more things to do is a bonus. I still think that this EP should be included in previous EP's, and that they should give us Seasons.
And lastly, I'm terrified of what will this EP bring in terms of bugs, specially this social part and sharing Sims, and that I will probably have to lower the settings on minimum just to load the game.  ::)

I do agree with this too, that is why I mentioned Generations EP too.

Meh. I love facebook games, except Sims Social. I absolutely adore TS3 but can't get into SS at all for some reason. I'm not too thrilled about this, but with my love for sims I will probably get it. As it is right now I only don't have Town Life and I'm hoping to get it soon, so I guess any and all EP or SP I have to have.  :D I also need to focus on getting a new graphic card cause I shudder to think what anymore added items will make it look like lol.

I agree with Leto on the SimPorting I think it will be quite similar to a rabbit hole in that way that we don't see our sim or anything to do with the town but I think that there will be pop ups along with a pop up like when your sim gets a phone call and they ask if you want to talk to so and so about letting another into our town to perform. Does that even make sense? I have to admit I was a little disappointed but that is mostly because I was really hoping that the next EP would have seasons and weather added but it's looks as though that will be a negative. But I will buy it too! I also think it will somehow be connected to the friends on the sims 3 site. I think that somehow you will be able to interact with the sim in your town because it says that there traits and clothing and such will be changed to match what is currently available to you. (like when you download a house that has items that you don't have) What difference would that make if you couldn't interact with that sim?I also wonder if bands will be able to travel and perform too? And if you could have a singer as part of a band now?

My guess it the new occult creature will be wizards or something to that nature or circus performers or something.

I think SimPort might not be included in a Patch - because your sim can't exactly sing in someone else's town if they can't sing - I don't think EA includes skills in Patches, so unless we can perform something else other than Singing in our friends' town, we can't do anything in their towns really, so SimPort would be rendered redundant.

I meant the 'posting messages to each other' side  - the kind of Facebooky features like that.

I have a question, will the simport and stuff be avaliable to everyone or just those with Showtime? Like how when generations came out everyone with the latest patch got memories as well, will it be like that do you think?
If at first you don't succeed, call it version 1.0.

We don't know that yet, but like Seabody said the SimPort stuff might just be for people with the EP because you will require the EP to be able to sing in other venues.. However, the social stuff like posting on other sims' walls and messaging each other in-game as well as the achievment feature sounds more like stuff that will arrive in a patch. However, we don't know any of this for definite. :)

When I first heard about the game I immediately thought, it's another Late Night but after reading all about it now I'm definitely going to buy it! I've always thought singing was a great skill to have and even if magic is different...

The achievements also excite me and Simport sounds awesome.
