Meh. If it has modern furniture in it, I'll probably count down the days until it's release. :P

Hey guys I'm taking an extended hiatus... again. I'm out of ideas to build houses and I don't have as much fun designing homes like I used to; it feels more like a chore. So that's where I'll be, I will probably be back sometime. :P

I'm going to completely reserve my judgement until I hear from EA what the Sim-Sharing business is going to be. I am totally willing to let certain people have my sims, or have sims from certain people, but until I hear about the privacy controls, I reserve judgement.

The trailer seemed like a fake to me at first, with un-simlish music, real world scenes and remarks, and pretty much nothing new. I did think it could be a stuff pack or something, but not an expansion pack. Maybe even some iphone app, like an upgraded version of Sims Social.

Honestly? If I wanted to post stuff about what my sim is doing every second in the game, I could either have keep playing Social, or share my sim's memories as they are. It's clearly some upgrade to Late Night, and not a new The Sims Online (which, by the way, people have been wanting for ages). I'm not trying to be negative here, but I think you can scratch that Animal Crossing way of interactivity. We may not know how this "sim-exporting" will work, but I don't believe it's that way.

I will regardlessly get it, but only for two reasons. One, there's magic in it, and I need as many paranormal stuff in my game as I can get. Two, this expansion's disappointment is balanced with the ever-cheering return of the Laganaphillis (aka Cowplant) to TS3, which kind of compensates it.

I don't want to burst your bubble but I truly (and sadly) believe that the magic and magicians isn't going to be remotely paranormal. I think it's just going to be another skill to develop.

Or EA's finally going to use the Magician NPC that randomly teleports around Sunset Valley!

I saw one "trailer" that had no Sims 3 images at all and it clearly was a fake.  But tonight I saw a different one and it's the real deal.

Naga, why are you disappointed in something that you know very little about?  I don't understand the negative first reactions from some people.  We only know a basic outline of what the EP will be.  I find it frustrating to see negative talk about something that will no doubt be a great and exciting experience for Sims 3 players.

I don't want to burst your bubble but I truly (and sadly) believe that the magic and magicians isn't going to be remotely paranormal. I think it's just going to be another skill to develop.

I think you may be right.  The little bit I saw on the trailer looked like "real life" magic that real life magicians train to learn.  I actually used to date a magician.  It's absolutely fascinating.

This EP actually looks really cool to me! I'm so happy to see the DJ booth and the Karaoke Machine make a comeback. The new version of the Electrosphere looks really neat too.

To be honest, this whole EP looks really neat and nothing like Late Night. The Facebooking could really add a lot of dialect to the stories I post here.

Ha, I knew Twinkid 2 would like it. I showed her the clip and she's all 'ohh, circus arts' then a little later she went crazy when she saw the roue cyr (spelt it right this time) because it's not a widely publicized performance art.

Im really looking forward to magicians and all of the new items such as the pool table, DJ booth etc, but I doubt that I would ever "send my sim to someone elses game". Sims runs about as fast as a snail on my laptop if the internet is also turned on, so thats a no-go for sure. Other than that aspect, it looks like a great EP!

EA kind of had to buy in to all the social media in order to attract new players. Lots of games have some kind of social feature or the ability to go online and interact whilst playing. I hope that it will be optional and not a game breaker for people that enjoy the solo play but it could be one of those feature that many think they are going to dislike but ends up being that new thing that everyone loves.

The thing is this is something completely new and human nature tells us to dislike change lol

There are going to always be EPs that we like better than others. Just as one of my favourites is Late Night, this looks as though it is going to be as much fun for me. It just depends on what you are looking at doing in the game.

I can't wait for the mass information leak between now and the release. I was hoping to get Pets but now I am going to put that on hold and wait for this EP.

Pam, I had a negative reaction because to me this all should and could have gone in Late Night, I for one want each EP to be different and not on the same theme. If you know what I mean?

I'm actually excited for this game. (But I'm always excited for all EP's.) Even if it's similar to late night, I'm still getting it. :)

Well, I come down on the side of being excited to have a new Expansion Pack.  Yes, it looks to be focused on performing, but I don't think that's something that should have been included in Late Night.  There's only so much content that can be released at a time.  Would you really want vampires, high rise buildings, three new musical instruments, celebrity AND singing, DJs, circus acts, magicians, and whatever else is coming?  That's just way too much to put into one expansion.  I think each expansion will stand on its own nicely.  Really, I think the reason the comparisons are being made is because it looks to be a "big city" environment.  Lots of lights and flash.

The new social aspect will be very different.  I'm somewhat doubtful that we'll be able to control our own Sims in someone else's game, but if it does come to that, I'm certain that Electronic Arts will have plenty of security in place.  It's just unthinkable to be able to enter a stranger's game without permission.  It's just not going to happen.  And I can see why EA would include something like this in an expansion.  Social networking has become a big part of our society and it's a natural progression for the game to start getting involved.  The first we saw of it was the ability to share memories.  Personally, I never do that, but there are plenty of people who do.  It's entirely optional and there's no harm if someone opts out of that part.  I expect the sharing in Showtime to be similar.

This expansion pack is bringing things that I've seen our members ask for again and again.  Singing, pool tables, DJs, magic (even if it's not the same kind of magic).  The fact is, Electronic Arts is listening...  and delivering.

I will buy it! I like the singing part and there will be new social interactions for the sims. And we get a new town. But I don't think I use the facebook thing.
