Let's hope the new recipes have banana in them: banana cream pie, banana splits, banana bread, etc.

@loveSims: I know a few sims that need banishing from my game, especially paparazzi!

I wasn't planning on buying this expansion pack, but the more I read about it the more I want it. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME.

Anyway, I'm so looking forward to the new clothes and furniture. I'm already making Sims in anticipation.   :)

I know what you mean... The same thing happens to me everytime I tell myself I'm not gettin an EP. It may not be good for my wallet, but I do think with all the information given that this EP will be worth it!

I wasn't going to get pets because in Sims2 filling in dog holes and stuff really irritated me; then, they threw in horses! So I had to get it.
At first I wasn't sure about this one because I didn't like the singing in Sims2; but, they added Magic and Acrobats!

As they used to say in Barnum and Bailey's Circus: "There's a sucker born everyday". And, EA knows that Sim addicts will be enticed by one or two things in this EP. So, they've definitely suckered me into buying this one.

I'm enticed by everything in this expansion, as soon as I saw the trailer for the first time, I wanted it. I love performance arts, acrobatics and singing and have done many things in those fields myself. I love magic and love the performance/hollywood feel the expansion has. Love, love, love all the fun items and don't even get me started on the stage props and I'm gonna stop right here before I go on forever!  ;D

Hmmm, I wonder if these new careers - the Singer, the Acrobat, the Magician, and by extension the DJ - would double as actual skills? That would be awesome for Immortal Dynasties - much more fun to watch than writing or exercising or playing chess.

I wasn't too keen on the whole American Idol feel of this one either, but the other features have suckered me in. Genies, singing, magic, props for stories... OK, EA, you evil geniuses. You've got me. I'm pre-ordering this one.

Lol I believe this is the very first one I said I might not get, but that had more to do with the social aspect rather than the game itself. But I of course gave in and will be getting it haha.

So true. When I was thinking about not getting it, all that was in my mind was I'm going to have an incomplete sims collection! That can't be allowed to happen, so I'm getting it.  ;D I'm also excited about it, I can make Nick Carter famous in my game, I love the bull and some other things, it's gonna be awesome!!

I hope so, too. I think that if it's possible, I'll make my gen 8 a magician, regardless of whether or not she is also a writer.

I would think that these are skills, especially the singing one. :)

Everything I've read says the only new skill will be the DJ Booth. In Sims 1, charisma determined how well someone sang, and probably that will be the case again.

Ooh, I never knew that about the Charisma. Hmm, I would have prefered an actual singing skill but hey. :)

According to SimsVip and their source, there isn't a new skill. If there is the need, I can post the link.

ETA: The DJ booth is pretty much a hidden skill, according to their (SimsVip's source's) hands-on review.

That's odd for a new EP to come out with no new skills. Has it ever happened in the past sims games?

Yes, I think it has. I don't quite remember but in Sims 2 the Skills were set from the base game and all the stuff added later on were like hidden skills. You had the standard Creativity, Cooking, Logic etc. as Skills and then stuff like Magic wasn't listed. I think.

Thanks Tom, I've never played any other Sims game before so I wouldn't know. :)

I guess we'll just have to wait and see! I still think the careers are awesome, and if charisma really does affect singing - almost all my future legacy heirs will be awesome singers! :P
