I agree Twinmum. Out of about 500 "friends" I have on facebook, I personally know less than 50 of them. All the others are for my games lol. And because of that, I wouldn't add any of them to my sims game. They could be using a harmful M word, or harmful CC. Adding you guys is an awesome thought though I would enjoy and welcome your sims into my game!  ;D

I probably won't use the social features (assuming they come in a patch because I won't be getting this EP). If I wanted to use the social features I'd just play sims social which I don't.
And about adding friends if I used those features I would add people here, but I don't do that on Facebook at all. I don't play any Facebook games. Only one person on my friend list I have never seen in real life. Plus I got in trouble when I tried to add someone from here because my dad (stalks) my Facebook.

I stalk my teens Facebook as well.  But I would allow her to add friends from here BECAUSE I stalk her Facebook.  You might ask him about that if you are interested.

I think I would like the social aspect if it meant more interaction with folks from this forum.  I've grown quite fond of them.  However, Facebook continues to baffle me, so I'm not sure how successful I will be.

In the past I have intensely disliked some EP and Sp stuff, and then, after playing a bit, found I really love it.  So for me the jury is out until someone in my family gifts me with the actual EP itself.  I refuse to prejudge it and wind up feeling like a fool later.  lol
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!

I personally am divided on the issue

Videos being uploaded to youtube (just type in the login and upload a gameplay video) will be quite easy (and something I'd get on board with)
But the spamming on a facebook wall with "[Person] has just had [event here] on TheSims4" might not be the best thing to incorporate (and would annoy a LOT of people)

Videos of gameplay - yes (as it will help EA with marketing and giving others a feel of the game)
Spamming a facebook wall - not convinced, but then companies are going down this route (another game that I play posts major achievements to their twitter)

I quite like the idea of singing/magic skills. It'd be especially nice if they could sing and play guitar at the same time, as a lot of people do that in real life. I'm not so sure on the social aspect though. If it's linked through Facebook I know I won't be using it, as I have a lot of work people on there and I'd be worried they'd take it as me playing Sims and not working on their projects.

That said, I won't be buying it until I can get hold of WA, LN and Pets to complete my collection so far.

SimsVIP has some "new" info.

Become an acrobat in The Sims 3 Showtime

Three new careers available to you in The Sims 3 Showtime: singer, acrobat & magician

By choosing a career as an acrobat, you can develop unique skills: – Your Sim will begin his career in Acrobat as street mime and earn tips through small towers. As you progress, new items, locations and costumes will be released to help him make a real career as an artist!

- When it starts to make a name, your Sims can showcase their talents in venues and perform new tricks such as flips or balance on a ball.

- Finally, when it became a real star, your Sim will have the opportunity to perform in huge arenas where they can demonstrate with ease all his skills as an acrobat on a stage completely customized to his needs!

Hehe, Street mime! France, Chap les Sims here I come.
Life sucks, and then you die.

Are you sure it isn't 'champ les sims' instead of 'Chap?' I don't speak French and it's not a big issue but for some reason I am quite suire it should be 'champ', with a 'p.'

If the social content is limited to sharing Sims with other players so they can watch them perform, it shouldn't be too bad.  Personally, I don't care much for social networking.  I think it's partly because I'm from a different generation.  But it's the way of the world now and I'm not surprised to see Sims 3 starting to embrace it.

Okey! Than we (or just I) really need to find a way to get you over that problem. As it really is a must (for me) to invite your sim over in my town and I would like to get feedback on my future questions: 'How it's hangning? How's my sim hanging around in your town I mean.

It's just a typo.

Wow, that looks promissing. I assume that bear in the background of the second picture is not a real animal, but the stages and performances are looking interesting.

Very interesting! Pets (except for horses and cats), doesn't really appeal to me. I'm getting as a present for X-mas. BUT, ways to makr my sims have fun and shine, does appeal to me.
