SimTime
« on: March 17, 2010, 04:44:54 PM »
A lot of stuff on the Sims 3 happens at a certain time every day. These things can be important to know. So I would like to make a compilation of all of them. If you have one, post it and I will add it.

I'll start off:

Time that Nectar ages: 12:00 A.M.

Time that sprinklers go on when upgraded to auto-water: 4:00 A.M.

Time when you can call/invite people over: 6:00 A.M.

Time that Death Fish spawn surface at the graveyard: 12:00 A.M.

Time the relic stores restock: 12:00 A.M.

Time plants grow: 5:00 A.M.

Aging time, no birthday cake: 8:00 P.M.

Vacation ending time: 24:00 or 12:00 A.M.

Bistro opens at: 11:00 A.M.

Time to claim money from businesses: 9:00 A.M. on Mondays

5/10/15/20% off sales at grocery store/bookstore start at: 9:00 A.M.

Mail comes at: Between 8:00 and 9:00 A.M. (in other words, if i send out a metal to be smelted at 7:30 A.M., I will still get it at 9:00 A.M. when the mail comes that day

Time where its too late to chat/hang out with someone: 11:00 P.M.

Opening Hours of Shops would be a good one too...

I think the Bistro is 11am - 11pm

This is why I want to make an articles section. I wouldn't know where to put all this, so I might make an article called time and indicate everything that happens at a certain time in-game rather than trying to fit it in. If there's more to add, please keep it up because I'll revisit this and possibly make a new page.

Hmm, i am just confirming, but doesn't the grocery store and bookstore stay open 24h?

Also, does anyone know if there is a specific time that tomb loot resets, or when gems/bugs/seeds respawn?

The gem respawn happens after a certain time depending on what the spawner is and at what time you collected it. I know seeds take a day or two to spawn.

I think he means that sales start at 9:00 a.m.  Like when they run a sale for 15% off or something.

The two that you have for 12:00 PM, should actually be 12:00 AM. 12:00 PM is noon.

Pretty sure there's a certain time when you'll get thrown out of a neighbor's house with the "it's getting late, maybe it's time for you to leave" message.  I think it's midnight, but maybe it's 1am.

Can't visit or call anyone after 11:00 p.m.  If you're already there, I think you can stay until midnight.  Not 100% sure, though.

Collecting Money from Business's I seem to only be able to do this on Mondays, not everyday. Correct me if I am wrong!

The gem respawn happens after a certain time depending on what the spawner is and at what time you collected it. I know seeds take a day or two to spawn.
From my ludicrous number of collections revolving around metals/gems, I do know that if you are harvesting many nodes, the game will insta pop to keep a certain number of active nodes.  When I overloaded (50 or so spawners in one 60x60 lot) one of my lots with the motherlode of spawners, I found that simply collecting them up would insta-spawn more after I had collected the lot almost empty.  I think there is a minimum number of active spawns based on the total number of spawners.

I say this because after they spawned the first time, I could not empty that lot completely afterwards.  Something would pop every time I collected a node.  Overnight the nodes repop, but I don't know what time that is at, nor what the exact percentage of the total is repopped.
