Beautiful Vista bug
« on: October 07, 2009, 06:46:05 AM »
I'm having a problem with the Beautiful Vista moodlet.
I really like this moodlet especially for stay at home sims but sometimes when moving in a sim on a new lot the Beautiful Vista doesn't show even though I know it's supposed to be there. >:(

I googled it and there seems to be a general problem. If you move in a sim with their home or place a house from the bin on one of these lots or bulldoze it, whatever creates the moodlet is destroyed.

Anyway, I was wondering if anybody has made a list of all the lots which gives the moodlet so I know where I should be expecting it and can restart if it's not there.

Great idea.
This is exactly the kind of information we sim players need.

Edit: Of course I don't have an answer and have nothing to contribute but a broad smile ;D

If you're playing in Sunset Valley, Beautiful Vistas should be any lot that has a view of the ocean.  There's also one at a remote fishing spot with mountains.  Maybe Crystal Springs?  Does that help any?

Yeah, I guess all lots by the ocean should have it.

Do you mean the one isolated lot where you can see a waterfall, Waterfall Way? Because I know I tried moving in there once and there was no moodlet. I thought that was strange because it looks amazing.

Yes, that's the lot I'm talking about.  I'm surprised it doesn't have the moodlet!  It's really gorgeous there.

It is actually the lot nearest to Pinochole Pond, at the dead end of that road that gives the beautiful Vista moodlet.  I don't know about the other lots on the street, but have played that lot in the past and had it.

Happy Simming....

That would be good to know...I built a house in SV on a lot  that the backyard is facing the ocean, but didn't get the beautiful vista moodlet.  :-\  The house that is next to the Koffi (sp?) house has the beautiful vista moodlet, I moved one of my Sims into that house.  ;D

Right, I think they all do. Seriously, looking for this go for country settings. That's one of the big reasons people like to live in the country in the real world! The beautiful view!

It will be a bit involved to make a FULL list, but I'll try to at least get a couple spots in either town.

That would be fine Carl.
Try to get a few of each size, that's actually all we need (except love  ;))

I'm having a problem with the beautiful vista moodlet also.  It's the lot down the road from the Wolfe mansion on the penisula.  I had placed a house I downloaded from the exchange (which was beautiful)but found the house not for my needs (no space) so I bulldozed it and built a house for the Goths.  Now no beautiful moodlet and that's the reason, huh.  Wish I had known that ahead of time... ::) >:(

Yeah, so annoying. You can't mess with those lots at all. Do not place a house and do not bulldoze, otherwise the moodlet is gone for good and all you can do is start a new game. >:(

I'm hoping the new expansion pack will have a fix for this.

I'm having a new problem with this now.

I moved a bunch of sims in on an empty lot with BV and they all got the moodlet. Then I built a house. Now the sims still has the moodlet outside but as soon as they enter the house it goes away. This is not supposed to happen right?
There are loads of windows, one room has an entire wall of windows but nothing.
This is the same house where I'm having a problem with the indoor pool, I wonder if pools kills the moodlet too? That pool is turning out to be more trouble than it's worth, I'm thinking of just scrapping this house. :P

Rrrrgghhhrrrr!!! >:(

Yes I just did a little test. I moved by Pinochle Pond and built a huge single room home with just carpet and wall coverings

Upon entering the windowless home, the moodlet disappeared. With that cheap $30 window you'd probably only use in a bathroom, I got the moodlet to appear.. so it just requires one terrible window for the whole room to get the boost.  Must be that blasted pool! It hit the hidden spot on the ground I guess.

Yeah, I think maybe I dug up the moodlet. I shall see what happens when I remove the pool, the moodlet isn't entirely gone, it's still there outside the house.

All this because I wanted an insane sim to fish in a pool. ::) :D

I removed the pool but it didn't fix the house.

I also tried starting over on a different lot. I built a house with an indoor pool; the sims get the moodlet inside the house except when they're in the pool. ???
