My Sim collected like 6 of the Egyptian gnomes all of a sudden. But they don't move when I set them up at home. And the original gnomes stop moving after a few days, too. It's annoying. I thought I'd explored all of China but no Chinese gnome! That French gnome looks adorable :)

I can help you with that.
Just collect some gems in China and send them away through the mailbox to get them cut in any form you prefer (they are any form you have unlocked so far). Sometimes the gems will be returned to you in the form of China gnomes, worth §1000. I know it works. I've lost some precious soulpeace gems this way which were sent to be returned in heart shape.

Or you can try and look in the French art gallery for something to swipe... ;)

Ok maybe it's just my game but I picked up 3 different ones. I remember one was a mummy looking thing and one being called Little Leon and I remember the mediating one. So it must have been all the destination ones at the museum that was mention that they are on in display except they were down stairs by the bed and when I clicked them they had the collect option so I did and took them all home. I kicked them all once and that got them moving then after they annoyed me I sold them all for $1000 a piece.

If you keep them for a long period of time, they will go up in price, at least most of mine have anyway.  I have a few that are worth around 1100.00, not much, but, I did not think they appreciated.  Really not enough to make alot of money on, just thought it was interesting.

I found my China gnome on a table outside the cafe.  I had the collect option when I clicked it, so I did.

I have done that too.  In the museum in France, had options for collecting gnomes, so I did.  We are just little gnome thieves, thank heavens there not gnome police.  That was pretty bad. lol

If you zeneport into the areas restricted with that velvet rope you could pick up some really nice artifacts and sarchophagi fragments as well.

You couldn't zeneport back? Probably your sim was too tired. That's why I always have a teleportation platform (or 2) at home to 'phone' my sim back to a safer place on those rare occasions when they really need that.

Somehow we acquired another type of gnome - neither of us can remember exactly how or where, possibly picked up or dug up?  I'll post a picture later today if I remember!

Edit = oooops, that's the one from the "Buy" menu, although it's in a different colour scheme to the basic offerings.  The most valuable has appreciated to 1200, so it's not a great money-maker!

does anyone know how to make the gnomes start moving again once they stop? I've tried kicking them, and setting them upright again, but they just stay there. They only seem to move around for a few days after I get them, then they stop. Except my new egyptian gnomes, that never started moving in the first place.

I have noticed that too, as far as I know after they quit moving, there is not any way to get them to move again.  Once they stop moving, I just put them around my yard or garden for decoration, at that point, that is all they are good for.

I have a few gnomes 2 on my lot to, but never give a lot atention to them. So after they stopped moving, they are frozen in their last post to? I was curious about that. Because if so, this way the collectors on this forum start a collection of gnomes in different poses, if they want.
