Submissions for the tips page
« on: November 23, 2011, 04:35:13 AM »
Hi,
I have a little something to add to the tips page, the career part exactly, I have found since patch 1.26, that sims will get raises (I had it after the career was maxed) when the bar fills and it will starting raising right after that (you don't have to wait until the end of the work day ) sportsfan found the same thing too, also I believe that hunger fills as well at work, I remember it happening with my sim at the science career to be specific , hope someone else can confirm that last point,
EDIT: also maybe a little not on the architectural design profession, taking observant LTR along with inappropriate in a good way can help your sim learn traits quickly too, would good help since it will unlock the first 3 traits right when greeting and the 2 others after using get to know

I remember that happening before patch 1.26 in both cases.  If a sim hits extremely hungry while at work they get a lunch break.  Same for kids at school.

Yeah - in the blog Alice and Kev by RoBurky, RoBurky mentioned that Alice survived on School Lunches, and stealing apples from neighbours on weekends. That prompted me to trial it - it's always worked for me.

Thanks, I'm setting up a new PC at the moment and don't have all my tools yet. I'll get around to editing this in after the holiday :)

I thought it was common knowledge, but a tip:
You can change the doorbell sound. I can't remember the exact level, but when you have about 5 skill points in Handiness, you can click a door and change the doorbell. The sim whacks it with a hammer a bit, then the doorbell changes.

Courtesy of ForTheLoveofCake:
"Just yesterday I discovered that when you are on your Sim's Personal Inventory tab, you can drag it over all the way to the right side of the screen so that you can see more objects at once!"

That's a nice helpful tip for an adventurer with lots of treasure or a collector of a fisherman or gardener.
