Thanks for the feedback, everybody! I'm really excited for you to meet the two new arrivals of the Merryweather clan!
Davy and Topaz are very excited as the birth of their child draws closer...
The day after Emerald ate Ambrosia, it was Davy's birthday. He's been up to his eyes in fishing and painting lately, so he just aged up by himself.
I tried to get a good shot of him but he will insist on those crossed eyes. He's honestly a lot more handsome than he's making himself out to be.
But no time to admire his new mature(?) self... commotion in Topaz's bedroom/art studio.
She's taking this whole 'giving birth' thing a heck of a lot better than her mother did. Emerald screamed the place down when she was in labour. Topaz took everything very calmly before grabbing Davy and dashing off to hospital in her father's truck. And once she was at hospital, she didn't hang about. She left Davy in the dust, went in, had the baby and was out again before her beau even had time to draw breath.
Welcome Quartz Merryweather. His traits are Athletic and Disciplined. No prizes for guessing what I plan for
him to pursue!
And Quartz isn't the only one. One day this little beauty came yowling at the door.
I've seen her coming ever since I first got the Pets expansion pack, not long after I started the Dynasty. For the most part I just ignored her, but to my amazement Jessica Willow has been interacting with her all on her own every time she's showed up, and it's pushed their relationship bar up far enough to adopt her! Now that's
weird. Could be a glitch, I suppose.
Although we've already got Sandpiper, I felt like letting her into the household for Jessica because Jess's life has seemed rather lonely and sad. She's basically been my skilling tool to get the early portraits and deathfish, and recently I've been using her happiness points to supply money for the family via the Inheritance reward. Considering I usually treat my Sims with a lot of love, care and respect, that's pretty despicable. So let her have a cat to love in her final years.
Two gallant old ladies!
I called the cat Stelmaria, because she looks like a snow-leopard (virtual cookie to whoever gets that reference!). She probably won't be with us for very long because she's already an Elder at 62 days old. But let's hope she sticks around.
Might wanna keep her off the catnip, though. Falling off the counter can't be good for your bones, old girl!
Topaz keeps some special time aside every day from her busy profession as an artist to spend with her son.
And Nicholas is especially proud of his new grandson.
However, it was his grandmother Emerald who brought him to his birthday cake.
And Quartz aged up into...
Wow! One gorgeous toddler! I mean it, I don't think I've ever had a boy toddler this good-looking! Though I haven't the faintest idea where the black hair came from. His father Davy has brown hair with lighter streaks, and Topaz has almost orange hair. What's really funny about how Quartz turned out is that he looks half-Asian. And since I plan for him to spend a lot of time in China, that just tickles me! He's going to fit right in!
Be prepared for a deluge of baby piccies!
