I'm sorry it is a few days late, I've not been able to post it due to personal issues but here it is! You'll still get the same amount of time to complete this Contest. Contest 8 will stick to the original schedule and so will overlap slightly with the end of this one. Sorry again for those of you who were waiting for the Contest to be posted. You can start tomorrow when the Contest begins.

House name: Petite Mignonne
Price: $91,038
Lot size: 20x30
Description: A classic and stylish 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom French villa with a courtyard, pool, and fireplace
Content: Expansions - Ambitions, Late Night, and Pets

Here is the front of the entire house. There is a courtyard with a pool, and two entries into the house. The door on the left leads to the foyer/living area; the other to the dining area. We'll go through the foyer first.

Here is the foyer/ main living area. It is a large open room that features two bookshelves, a fireplace and a grand piano (which isn't in this picture but we will see it in a second) to the right and staircase leading to the second floor. Notice the wine and candle on the end table which will provide for nice ambience when relaxation is desired:

Here is the main floor bathroom (that is to the left of the living area):

In the living area, as we turn to the left, we see the staircase more fully and the grand piano:

We'll now go past the piano to the right, and come to the dining area. It is the simplest room, allowing for the family to focus on sharing meals together and conversing in this naturally bright room (the outside door to the dining room is behind us):

The dining room leads to the fully functional and quaint kitchen:

We'll now go up the stairs and see the master bedroom at the end of the hallway:

The top floor bathroom is to the left of the master bedroom and differs from the first floor bathroom in that it is slightly smaller, but features shelving:

Next to the bathroom, on the left, is the second bedroom. This could be the butler's room, depending on your preference. It is lavishly decorated and features a mirror:

From there we'll go to the last room in the house, the third bedroom, which could also be the butler's room. It is not as intricate, but contains a canvas for the artist in the house:

House Name: La Zanahoria

Price: £99,267 (furnished on 30x30 plot), £65,074 (unfurnished), £97,457 (furnished excluding plot)
Lot Size: 30x30

Description: 1 bed, 1 bedsit, 4 baths, living room, kitchen/diner, indoor gym, study, swimming pool, veg garden/orchard, 2 parking spaces

Content: World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets / v 10.0.96.013017

Hola and welcome to La Zanahoria. May I say how good you're looking today.  That top you're wearing is gorgeous, so becoming.  Ah, but let me not waste your precious time with idle chit chat, please let me introduce you to La Zanahoria: a spacious dwelling designed by the late, great, Spanish designer, Juan Der Fool during his senile period. This spacious, faux Spanish folly has much to offer the discerning, worthy buyer.  Come, let me show you around:

The side elevation shows the proprotions of the house and offers parking for  large vehicle by the side of a soothing fountain, whilst the path leads you lusciously around to...

The rear elevation.  I'll let you linger for a moment to imagine yourselves lazing by the pool or relaxing in the shaded area if it should get too warm, before leading you right around to...

The other side elevation, where there is the beginnings of a small vegetable garden and specialised fruit orchard. The side door provides easy access to the kitchen area and the unsightly but necessary rubbish bin is hidden by a trellis.  Let's go back to the path and round to the front...

Another parking space and another fountain and, from here, you get a superb view of Juan Der Fool's folly, the inaccessible topmost floor of this fabulous house.

Let's go inside now, underneath the beautifuly scented pergola that frames the front entrance.

Yes, it does take your breath away. This is a wonderfully, light and airy hallway, looking up it's as if you can see for miles.  Come stand with me on the messanine landing and just gaze.  Did you notice the tiles?  Juan Der Fool believed that licking them would help to improve one's night vision, hence the name of the house. I see your raised eyebrow. It is said that many an eyebrow was raised during his final years.  So sad.. but come, let me show you the floor plan and you will see that this fine architect was worthy of his name.

The uppper floor. This fine floor, where you are standing, has room for a fusball table, should you so desire, and doors leading off to a shower room, the master bedroom with its ensuite and a computerised study area with integral balcony. Perfect for viewing the stars and painting the moon, whatever the weather.

The lower floor. The triple aspect main living area runs the length of the house and has direct access to the swimming pool and rear garden. There's also a door into your personal gymnasium, with its own little shower room. And, as you can see, there's a large kitchen diner and, just off the kitchen area, access to the butler's bedsit with its ensuite bathroom.  Let's go back downstairs now.

The living area. Do you play chess? Or do you prefer to imagine fixing yourself a drink and relaxing whilst watching the impressive high definition television?  Come walk with me, under the covered veranda area, and into the kitchen/diner.

Sit down here, on the comfortable chairs, at the table. I have a contract for your perusal and a pen.  There's the dotted line...

Red-Brick Residence

Furnished:  $99,765
Unfurnished:  $62,659

2 Bedrooms, 2 1/2 Baths

Lot size:  30 x 30

Content:  Everything except Late Night.  Also includes items from the Earth Day free store set.

View from the street:

Overhead view of top floor, with the Butler's room and bathroom on the left and the  master bedroom, bath and art room on the right.  Also shows the third bedroom for future development.

Overhead view of main floor, showing the living room/study in the foreground, kitchen and dining room in the back, and the 3-car garage at the upper left.

My Simself testing the cooking facilities:

She really didn't feel like eating, but she went and sat in the dining room anyway and enjoyed the beautifully decorated moodlet.  I don't know why some of the carpet tiles show lighter than the rest as they're all the grey ones.  I think it must be from the overhead light.

Trying out the master bathroom:

Hey guys I'm taking an extended hiatus... again. I'm out of ideas to build houses and I don't have as much fun designing homes like I used to; it feels more like a chore. So that's where I'll be, I will probably be back sometime. :P
