Recoloring Questions
« on: November 18, 2011, 11:35:24 AM »
Hi everyone! This might be a really stupid question and if it is, I apologize! I've been playing Sims 3 for over a year now, and for the life of me I can't figure out how to recolor objects in CAS. I've been able to use it for clothing and hair, but not objects. I use a Mac if that matters, and I thought I needed Create-a-Pattern, but I can't figure that out very well either. If someone could help me out or point me somewhere that would tell me, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Thank you :)

It's not a stupid question.
Go in to Buy Mode. Right beside the hand tool is an artist palette click it and then click on the object then color away.

Hope this helps you.

You could also use the keyboard shortcut which is "R" quite helpful

No problem. ;D There is also "E" for the eyedrop tool, "H" for the hand tool and "K" for the sledgehammer tool. :)

There is an article on Create a Pattern here on Carl's site
http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/info/create-a-pattern.php
but as has been pointed out, just to recolour, you only need the create a style tool (the artist palette in game)
