Site won´t load?
« on: November 16, 2011, 08:11:29 PM »
Hey. I´ve been resently having a problem. Am typing from my mom´s laptop.
In my computer, when I go to this Forum, nothing loads, and it´s only the banner on my screen. I don´t know what might be causing this
problem. Could it be my computer? Every other site loads good except this one. Any ideas?
I´m truly desperate  :-\

Has your computer loaded this site before?

Does your computer need a security system update, or any other kind of update?
And what kind of computer is it?

When I say update, that means kind of like a sims launcher update. But its not for the launcher. Its for other programs on your computer, such as Firefox, Adobe Flash, Norton 360...
There's a lot, and they all make your computer run faster and safer.

No, I mean, I don´t think so. I got it in my 13 birthday, last year.

Have you tried clearing your history, cache and cookies?

What browser do you use? Try visiting the page using a different browser. I sometimes have problems with a few sites and sometimes it works to just use a different browser for a bit.

Have you read the Forum Rules?
And please try to remember Capitals, Commas and Apostrophes when you post.

Dumb Question: how do I do this?

Just Internet Explorer. Browsers are like Goggle Chrome and Firefox correct?

Yes those are different browsers.

For clearing history there should be a history tab on the bar on the top of the browser. Click on that and find clear history.

I too have an HP (I think it's a notebook) - I get this, but the forum loads. You say all other sites load fine? My HP has an issue - if it's idle for ages (screen goes totally black, there's no screensaver), then the internet's horribly slow. I usually shut it down then start it up again after a few seconds.

Maybe (maybe!) pressing CTRL+F5 will work? What that does is refresh the page without relying on caches. Caches typically store what they know about the site - so if Carl changes the banner to pink, the caches will think it's still blue. So CTRL+F5 basically is an advanced refresh.
