Getting a Raise in the Middle of Work

My sim is in the middle of their work day and I get a notification that they got a raise. So I go and look at the career tab and not only did they get a raise but also their performance bar is not topped out and is filling up again. This seems like a nice new addition from the latest patch, as I've never seen it before now.

Sims have always been able to get a raise during work - it's one of those random events, like "x has a horrible day today. From chasing down criminals to filling in paperwork, x is really stressed out!" or "x caught a criminal red-handed today. The boss was so happy, they promoted x on the spot!".

Now, what really intrigues me is about the performance bar filling up again - what do you mean? Is the sim at Level 10 of their career?

No it was like they had the performance bar almost all the way up and then when it was full she got a raise. And then it was empty again and started to raise up again.

I was having the same thing happening to me, my sim have maxed his career, and now you don't have to wait until the end of the day for the bar to start filling again, don't know about promotions yet

Yeah sadly mine was at top of career so I can't really test but its a super cool new feature.

Getting a raise (normally by demand in my case) drops the performance down (which can then be filled back up immediately).

Getting promoted always (in my experience) happens at the end of the day, which then needs to be refilled (either at the computer with the workaholic trait) or at the next working day.

I don't think so. I think Smith in my Agent Legacy maxed out his performance bar partway through the day and didn't get promoted until the day was done.

My sim get a promotion in the middle of the workday. A event happen (can't remember wich) and she get promoted. She is in the cullinary career. I think it can happen in millitary career also.

Yes, a Sim can get a promotion in the middle of the day.  It's something separate from the performance bar.  As was mentioned in a post above, it's a random event that can happen during the work day.  I see more things like that when my Sim is using the "Working Hard" tone.

No. They were working hard, and then halfway through the day the performance bar maxed out. It said they got a raise, and then it went back to zero and start filling up again.

I didn't think that getting a raise reset the performance meter.It usually just drops by about an hour of hard work. (Pre level 10)

I think however, it does reset when getting a raise at level 10, rather than any other level.
