Horses and Garden Plants
« on: November 08, 2011, 02:06:46 PM »
I just adopted a black female horse, humorously named "Snowball"(I kept the name for the obvious hilarity...somebody at EA likes irony). I'm doing the opportunity to gain steak plants and burger patty plants. I had a normal quality Cheese Plant in the garden that I had fertilized. Guess which plant the horse ate?

Any progress I made was erased. Any way to get horses to not eat garden plants? She's free to graze, so why did she choose my Cheese Plant?!

You can put a fence around the garden with a single gate and your horse won't be able to get in to eat your plants as horses can only use double gates.  If you prefer a double gate then you need to lock Snowball out.

She's free to graze, so why did she choose my Cheese Plant?!

As for that, it's called Murphy's Law...

Any horse with the Neat trait(you can train it if they dont have it) Will NOT autonomously eat your plants!!

You can also fence in the area your plants are growing and lock it against pets. This way not even wild horses nor deer can get to the plants to eat them.

But be careful how close you plant to the fence because one of my horses simply put her head over the fence and nabbed a plant that was too close.  ;D

I only just realized that some of the animals must be eating my garden plants!  A couple of them just disappeared.  There's a horse that lives next door and deer that pass by.  I never imagined that I'd be required to put a fence up.  ;D

I noticed that the deer also tend to eat plants in any community garden. I had downloaded Anushka's perfect garden and just as my sim was about to harvest the last type of grape I needed, there came Bambi Deer. Murphy's Law is right...
