Yeah, I know about the bin but will that prevent the lagging?

My game lag when the house get to big or I buy too many stuff. So if the house is big with a lot of stuff it will lag after a while. I hope I'm right lol!

Of course you are! More objects mean more GPU pressure. I've got around 20 plants and some household items. My lot is 25 x 25 or maybe even 20 x 20. Got some furniture such as TV, sink, toilet, shower, a few decor items and some other crap. Thing is before Generations my laptop was doing fine :/

You can save the family to a bin with their house and you can move them to a new Hidden Springs or a new Sunset Valley or a new wherever and there is a possibility that you will not get the lag that was stated in the original post.   We've already explained this as much as can be explained and EA bashing isn't allowed.   The lagging is just a part of the world whether it's due to a pathing issue or just something that's happening in that particular file.  So at this point, you can: a) move the family or b) just keep resetting the sims because you don't want to redo the bars and everything.

1 interesting thing I noticed in China: my sim wouldn't use the stairs automatically when told to move somewhere but he can climb them when I tell him to use the directly via an interaction :/

Have any of you tried the global reset for this problem?  Open the cheats panel and type "ResetSim *" without the quotation  marks.  This resets every Sim in the game and will often help with the freezing moments.

The cheat helps but only for a period of time :/ I applied the 1.26 patch and the freezings didn't change. I got used to them by now to be honest. I visited China recently and the Hot Springs are still bugged. I wonder if anybody tried deleting them?

This has been suggested as a fix several times now.

I would like to mention again that I said if you save your family and house to bin and place it in a new hidden springs the pausing might go away.  It did for me.  I believe you said the only thing keeping you from doing it is because you didn't want to place Late Nigh bars again.

PS: Moving to a new town may help you with the fishing problem you seem to determined to talk about in this thread regardless.

Sorry for being so stubborn. I'm just a bit attached to the current Hidden Springs. I'll try moving. Hope it solves the fishing problem. As for the freezing I think it might be related to the graph card heating too much. I'll check that later.

Edit
Oh my!! It worked!!! Woot! I moved my Sim to a new Hidden Springs and he can fish with bait again! Don't know about the freezings yet. I'll post the results after an hour of play. Time to set some clubs around :)

Edit 2
I've been playing for around 3h today and the freezing is persists. I think it's related to the overheating rather than the game. I may be wrong. The random freezings occur after a while.

I used the global sim reset and it worked! Haven't had a problem since. My game is back to running flawlessly.

Thanks again for the advice!

It will for another hour or so. Then some stupid sim will eventually get stuck and cause the lag :/ That's what happens in my game. I got used to it thou...

I've had a freezing problem for about a day now . It got so bad that it made it unplayable . I read this whole thread , did the global sim reset and it seems to have sorted out my problem .
Thank you for the great advice .  :)

Just a side note to add to this thread: I have been having this problem severely in every single file, even brand new ones, and global reset does work but my advice is to do it every sim day. Yes, I know that sounds very annoying especially for those of you with big families but I think it is just a really good idea. My game is absolutely hellish and my laptop can barely run the thing, yet it works for me so it should be able to keep the lag and freezing at bay for all of you, too. :)

Going to dig up this old thread for a second.
Has anyone had any actual results yet?
I tried the ResetSim * thing and it worked a few times, and now it does not.
I've also tried cleaning up my game files, which again worked for a while before I was back at every 2 minutes the game just freezing. It's quite frustrating...
FYI, this started happening right after re-installing, so doing that again may not be an option (though it was the quick way of doing it, not a full-on 'discs to hand this might take a while' re-install...)

1)  Welcome to the forum!

2)  There has been no real progress that I am aware of.  None that anyone has mentioned, anyways.  People don't often complain when things are running well lol.

3)  I keep hearing this "pathing issue in China thing," but aside from an occasionally non-functional adventure board, paparazzi tournament opponents, not being able to access Dong Zhou's tomb one time and the dreaded "travel bug," I have never at any point had any manner of issues with China.  No lag, no nothing.  Thus, I am still somewhat skeptical of this particular bit of info, because if there was something inherently wrong with China on EA's end, everyone would be experiencing it.  I'm not saying that it's not true, but the question of "why doesn't everyone experience it" really needs to be addressed.

4)  Nobody has ever mentioned what town they are having this stopping issue in.  However, this kind of complaint is somewhat common with the towns Riverview and Barnacle Bay.  My theory is that this issue is a result of their single common factor:  the existence of World Cache files.  If I'm right (and I may not be), it's likely that Hidden Springs would experience similar issues.  Deleting these files does help to some extent, but it is by no means a perfect or permanent fix.  It's something you should do anyways, to minimize the problems.
