Patching/Updating Help?

I need your help. I currently have the Sims 3 without any expansion and I want to update it to Ambitions.
Is there only a patch or update and not the full version to install it to my Sims 3?
And where can I find it?
And can I have many expansions in one Sims 3, like if I put Ambitions and Late Night together?

You have to buy Ambitions and then while you are installing it just follow the steps and update when it tells you to.
And yes you can have as many EPs or SPs as you want.
