So it counts as a multiplier, but you can't move when you reach the top? Because it doesn't have level 10

You can only move if one of your Sims reaches lvl 10 in a standard rabbit-hole career, self-employment career, or a profession.

Ah, good catch. I will make a quick edit.

What if someone already used it for a move?

Lena, Metro has edited the rules:

You can only move if one of your Sims reaches lvl 10 in a standard rabbit-hole career, self-employment career, or a profession (Level 5 in the Daycare profession is fine).

Wow! This challenge has kept me going all day. Not bad for my first effort!

My Sims topped 10 careers. They lived in houses totalling $1,969,323.

So my score is 1969323 x 2.0 = 3938646!

Total House Values: 1070702
Careers Maxed: 4
1070702 X 1.40 = 1498982

Great challenge Metro! A lot of fun!

Well guys, I've played all the Sims games since release and I can honestly say this has never happened to me before.

I've got saves that are just flat out GONE.

When I'm doing challenges, I always "save as" with the in-game date, just in case something goes horribly, catastrophically awry. Sunday is my only day off and the hubby's out of town so I had a loooong productive session yesterday. And when I logged in today, my wishes gave me the strangest sense of deja vu ... sure enough, check the in-game date and it's Week 3, Day 7 ... when I went to bed last night, I saved on W4D6, and I had at LEAST two, maybe 3 seperate save files before that. But now they're just gone.

Um. So. Anybody got any ideas?

If I can't find those saves ... I'll probably just quit. I was having fun but doing terribly, and that's a LOT of work to lose, especially when I was already so behind given the amount of time I have to play between two jobs.

Thanks all.

That is a shame Eliza.

I think I just worked out how Drift got that fantastic score and I am kicking myself. Hey Metro how about a restart for being me being an idiot  ;)

Probably not,I guess you live and learn.

The Alot twins, Moves and Works, were busy!

house values 1,082,203
multiplier       1.90

score   2,056,185

I'm proud of my score, I think that's the highest I've gotten on a listing so far!  Kinda nice not to be dead center :)

*sighs*
Managed to get to WK4, Day3 and then the save became totally unplayable.  It loads in fine but then the game runs so slow that it took over 15 mins to get a simple compliment interaction to work.

Its just my challenge game. Everything else works fine.  Its not my computer specifications as I know they are more than capable of running the game.  My computer is regularly tidied up and defragmented.  There's no CC on it currently aside from Union Cove.  Cache files are regularly emptied, as is DCBackup.  Patch is up to date.  No other background programs running.

Resetting the sims didn't help.

I think I'm now at the point where the only things left that I can think of to try to fix it are either mods or editing the town itself to remove abandoned vehicles etc, and of course those will make the challenge attempt invalid anyway.  The bit that I did get to do was fun though.

Wench, try "resetsim *" with the asterisk. This resets every sim in town. Sometimes a sim gets stuck in unroutable terrain and it will cause the game to lag like that.

Ratchie - I think I'm using the same approach Drift used. If I keep up what I'm doing, and it's not ruled out, I may just be able to beat that score. We'll see as I'm on week 5 day 4 right now and it looks great so far. I guess I'll find out when the challenge ends.

Nope, that didn't fix it either, lvrugger.  I tried that when resetting the two sims in the household didn't work :(

I'm fairly certain that the only options left to me would invalidate the challenge anyway.  Still, I managed to get a taste of how a challenge works and while I wasn't expecting to have a good score it was a fun attempt.  Maybe I'll give some of the others a try :)

Aw dang, that's a bummer, Wench. But at least you're not alone, I'm here to keep you company. :) I had fun and learned a bit ... but I bet I'll learn more when it closes and we can discuss Drift's strategy, that score is nuts! To entertain myself until the next challenge starts, I think I'll do the Handyman one just for myself for fun, since it sounded right up my alley and I was bummed to have missed it. :)

Finally done!!!

Sims capped 11 careers  ~ 1.00 + 1.10 = 2.10
Total of Houses ~ 882,562

882,562 * 2.10 = 1,853,380.20

Final Score $1,853,380
