Playing in Egypt for tips
« on: October 29, 2011, 05:42:30 PM »
My sim was send to Egypt to play the guitar for tips, but wherever he goes, nobody is even listening to his music. Also giving parties on avenues isn't even possible in foreign countries. Anybody any sugest on how to do this?

I don't think it's possible.  I had the same problem a long time ago, and when I asked here in the forum about it, everyone seemed to agree that you just can't play for tips in Egypt.  As I said, it was quite a while ago that I tried but it sounds like that particular problem still hasn't been fixed.

I've been able to play for tips in foreign countries.  It's just very difficult because there aren't as many people as there are in the home town.  Also, it's possible to throw parties if you own a vacation home.

And without vacation home it isn't?
When my sim came back home I've noticed he already had made a party appointment with people before he left to Egypt, and that time has just yet to come. Perhaps that's the reason he couldn't make a new party in Egypt, I don't know.

@Schipperke: You got that as a career opportunity as well? That's the weird thing about it. In the music career my sim got that one, so I was assuming it was at least possible.

Yes, it was an opportunity.  And I wasted a lot of time having my musician play for tips in various places.  But as you said in your original post, not one person even stopped to listen.  Big disappointment.  Maybe the only way to fulfill that opportunity is to own a vacation home and play for tips at your own party, I've never tried that.

Whenever that opportunity arrives, I cancel it. Only once was my sim able to complete it. They just don't give tips in Egypt. The only tips she ever got was from the tourists at base camp and that didn't count.

The tips at base camp didn't count?  Well, I don't feel so bad then - when my musician tried playing at base camp, he didn't get any tips at all.  Maybe he just wasn't a very good musician!  ;D

Actually yeah. :P Like I mostly do. But I really thought I had something to say in that previous topic. Perhaps the forum thought otherwise. :P
