Question About the Equestrian Trait
« on: October 28, 2011, 08:03:05 PM »
If I want a sim family to own a horse as a pet, not showing, doing contests or anything, do they HAVE to have the equestrian trait to ride it or anything like that? I
like to create me and my family on sims and my daughter wants to have a horse in the game, but I'm going to have her 5 traits suited to her career as a teacher. Could she still own a horse without the equestrian trait or would a horse not like her unless she has it? I don't know, just asking.

No, you do not. It may take a little longer to befriend the horse but other than that you shouldn't have an issue.

Building the relationship with the horse is not an issue.  Anybody who interacts with it will build a relationship and will eventually be able to saddle and mount the horse.  The problem is that, without the Riding skill, your Sim will be limited as to what they can do once mounted.  Equestrian Sims will just be better at it and will learn the Riding skill at a faster rate.
