Transmuting Guide additions.

Metro... Can you append to the guide?  There is another type of transmute available...

MIXED TRANSMUTE

If you combine separate types of items (gems, metals, relics) you get a new item based on the total value of the items transmuted.

Under 200           Common, uncommon, or rare seed with average quality of Nice
201 - 499           §350-700
500 - 999           22-40 Ancient Coins
1000 - 3499        A Magic Gnome
3500 - 4999        Uncut Tiberium
5000 - 11999      Fragment of Pushable Statue, Dive Well, Plain Sarcophagus, Egyptian Sarcophagus, or Sarcophagus of the Kings
12000 - 24999    Fragment of Sarcophagus of the Kings
25000 - 49999    §22000-27000 bottle of nectar, 100-200 years old
50000 - 99999    §45000-55000 bottle of nectar, 300-500 years old
100000+            §75000-110000 bottle of nectar, between 700-900 years old

-----  Optional suggestions below -----

The 3,500 to 4,999 formula for uncut Tiberium is hideously profitable (+30,000/activation) and if you let the nectars age, you are getting about 500 a day in increased value per bottle.  The initial transmute to nectar is a bit of a negative value, but it surpasses your input amount pretty quickly if you keep the value close to 100k.  I personally make Tiberiums, let them grow to spire cut, then use those in groups of 3 to make "Fight Club Special Reserve" ---  Of course, I let it age about a month or so before serving.  Nothing beats drinking a 200,000 simolean bottle of nectar as a nightcap.

Also posted elsewhere in the Forum ... Transfiguration of metals.

Quote
IRIDIUM.  We've only done this once, so still under test.  Place 4 iridium bars in the top left corner, and one on each other location.  That's 11 bars worth in total about $1500 and the $500 cost of 'Irreversible Trasfiguration"  This resulted in ...
One Large Iridium  $747
One Large Copper  $196
One Large Supernovium  $81,191.  Yes, over 81 thousand!

Another test on that one later today, once our Sim has been to France, and spent the entire trip using the Collection Helper to find metals ... with IRIDIUM at the top of the list!

Hope that's of interest?

It's very much of interest but I was unable to duplicate the results.  As described, I put four iridium ingots on the upper left slot and one each on the remaining slots.  I received one large iridium valued at $1,125 and one large palladium valued at $3,288.

Replied on the other thread ... I'll take your advice as to which one to use!

It has worked twice so far - but now we're out of Iridium.

Hello again, Pam.  OK, we've done some more tests.  Sorry it's such a long post.

Theory
1. Each Location has 2 unique metals.  One of these metals, when stacked on the Carter XL in a 4 + 7 arrangement, generates a Large Supernovium Ingot worth around 80,000.

2. It would appear that the formula works when you use just ONE of those unique metals from each location [Iridium, Mummitomium or Platinum].

3. I'm waiting to test using Large Mercury ingots [x 4] in slot one, and filling the other 7 slots with ordinary vials.  My guess is that Platinum is the metal for China in this case.

Situation
4. Our Sim has a basement workshop where the ingots and the Carter XL are located.  Is the basement significant?

5. The game is played on an iMac [that shouldn't make a difference].

Results
Every time we stack those three country-specific metals we get the same result - a BONUS Supernovium ingot worth about 80,000.

France/IRIDIUM [now done 4 times]
Input = [?], Output  = Iridium 747, Copper 196, Supernovium 81,191.
Input = [1200], Output = Iridium 880, Copper 110, Supernovium 76,266.
Input = 1347, Output = Iridium 682, Copper 103, Supernovium 77,292.
Input = 1287, Output = Iridium 764, Copper 253, Supernovium 79,817

Egypt/MUMMUITOMIUM
Input = 16,565, Output = Mummitomium 14,426, Iridium 1580, Supernovium 79,772.

China/PLATINUM
Input = 3387, Output = Platinum 1209, Supernovium 80,907

Make of it what you will, but it certainly happens here, in the basement location.  I would send a screen-shot, but I'm not sure how to do that.

Regards,
Slingsby

Interesting find. I'll try that after I get my computer's battery changed(yes, I'm still using such a computer) so my graphic accelerator can work properly again. And in this case I'll cheat with testingcheatsenabled so I can have plenty of Iridium, Platinum, and Mummitonium.

For a screenshot, press the 'C' key.
Then go to the Sims 3 Launcher and find your picture there.
You can import your picture from there into some other document in your computer.
There, you can upload your picture in Photobucket, etc.
Then with the link provided, you can place your image here.

Alternatively, you can just press Print Screen on your keyboard.
Open Paint or Adobe, then paste.
Save it under JPEG or bmp.
Then Photobucket...

I have to give it to you Slingsby that your results are quite convincing! :o
Thanks for sharing this! What I was thinking is that it may not have a 100% success rate even though you got perfect results, since Pam didn't get the supernovium.

Is the basement a factor?

I'll try posting a screenshot of the workshop.

I have no idea what could play into this probability (ideas anyone?). I wouldn't think that being in a basement is a factor though, unless it's a mistake from EA. If it is just plain chance, then by the scientific method we can just say that maybe you, Slingsby, got lucky and Pam got unlucky. :-[

My Carter LX Display is actually in the basement.  I'm out of iridium, but I have plenty of platinum to play with.  I'll give it another try.

I'm happy to report that Slingsby's awesome formula for getting the $80,000 large Supernovium bar is CONFIRMED!!  I didn't do anything different, but I certainly got different results this time.  I did it with both Iridium and Platinum.  Perhaps there is some luck involved because my initial failures don't seem to have a concrete reason for failing.  However, the formula does work at least the majority of the time.  I can even confirm that it does not work with Titanium.

Thanks, Slingsby!  I'll work on getting this added to the Guide.

Edit:  Yay!  My first update to the Guide!

Today we did another test ... 4 + 7 Compendium Bars, total value 75,906

Result = 127,685  :)

Large Compendium = 45,046
Large Platinum = 1352
Large Supernovium = 81,297

That's 51,779 profit [oops ... less the 500 for Transfiguring!].

I'm really happy this worked! :D (Congrats Pam for getting it to work for you)
Thanks Slingsby, this'll be a great technique for transmuting.
