The names are awesome (I love Merlin) and your castle was a really cool idea. But I do love your Craftsman.  It is one of my favorite styles and yours is great.  I've not tried to find any unicorns yet, but your unicorns are lovely.  I may have to try and find one myself.   :)

Good luck, Lynley! I've had really good luck finding them around Cinnamon Crest Falls and the Water Treatment facility. The dark-colored male has not deigned to grace me with his presence yet.

I also love the Craftsman style. With this one I was hoping to also capture the look and feel of Louis Hill's Lodge at Glacier National Park. I messed up the original roofline last night and was too tired to make it right. This morning I fixed it.

I wanted to make training time more efficient, so I added jumps to the advanced and beginners' courses, and I extended the race track. Horses now cover more ground and jumps in less time; thus, training goes more quickly.

But I'm also a fan of Federalist Revival and Roman Neoclassical Architecture. When I get back from vacation I'm going to build a Montecello-inspired mansion. Considering Thomas Jefferson's great interest in agriculture, I think such a home would be perfect for a gardener  ;D

On carl's guide it was mentioned that male unicorns always have a lion's tail and a beard (when grown I think) and mares have the normal horse tail ... just the horn (and maybe their powers) makes them different than other mares.
I love this little black dotted unicorn foal of yours. It's pretty sweet to look at.

I have a question.
If you "caught" a unicorn and then release it into the wild again, will it be the same unicorn or will there always be an other one?
I'm asking this why? Because I challenged myself! I want to breed them. Now before you just shake your head read on. I want to create a sim with a horse that has exactly the coloring and design like I want it to. Then the sim needs to befriend a unicorn and make it part of the family. After "try for foal" and a apparently a foal the unicorn needs to be released and the next be "caught" until I have a pureblood unicorn again with the design I wanted. This means I need a lot of unicorns and it would be bad if it will always be the same one.
I know something like pureblood does not exist here ... just imagine it. :)

I'm not really sure I follow your plan, but since I think it's answering your question:I've released several unicorns into the wild as foals and adults and never seen any of them again, just new ones. I'm thinking of moving them in with other families in town in future just so they stay in my game :)

Thanks that's great news.  ;D
The plan will come true then. Let me try to explain it a bit better ...
You have a sim (or two) and one horse with the correct coloring and design but you want to breed unicorns. So you befriend one and get it into your family (hopefully with another gender as your horse). They get a foal and if it has the correct coloring and design like the horse but is a unicorn you have a half blood. So you release the adult unicorn after BFF of course and sell the adult horse. Then catch another unicorn and breed them together again. The next foal will be a 3/4 blooded unicorn. The next would be a pureblood ... at least in theory. The last is the unicorn you want with the right colors and the correct design.
Uh ... that sounded even strange to my ears. :)

Of course you could easily just breed two unicorns together. That would be much easier.

I'm sorry my mind is a confusing one ... even for me. :)

Oh and just one more question. How will you keep them in your neighborhood? Is it possible for another family to visit, befriend and finally adopt the unicorn someone else has on their farm? Would that be possible for a unicorn foal as well?

Okay, I see what you're planning now! I'd probably use Edit Saddle and just change the look of the horse, but I can see it might be fun to do the breeding :)

No, if you put them up for adoption they just disappear from your game. I've been going into Edit Town, adding a single sim to my household to enable the unicorns to move out (pets can't go on their own when you use 'split household'), then adding the unicorns only to a household in play and discarding the spare sim.

Oh ... that makes sense of course. :)
How many unicorns will it be then? In your neighborhood I mean?

I've only moved 3 out so far, but I have multiple games on the go so when I get around to them all there will be quite a few :)
