Thank you, Abraham! I didn't know there was a castle kit. I'll have to go look for it. I still want to elevate my keep and main building another couple of levels, but I've got to make some more money first. The peasants around Camelot aren't producing very well.  >:(

I have the kit.  It's a bit difficult to work with though.  The pieces are actually pillars, and you have to use "moveobjects on" to get them to fit together.  Plus, they don't cut away so they're really only useful for the exterior walls.  Even still, the effect is spectacular.

You can find the Castle Kit here.  There is also a matching furniture kit here but I think the Regal Set looks better and fits just as well.

Thank you very much, Hosfac. I think after looking at it I'll stick with what I'm doing. I've got all kinds of ideas for things to build into the walls of my castle and the Castle Set wouldn't allow me the kind of latitude I want.

Awesome.  Nice job with both the castle and the concept.

I apologize for not being around as much; I'm leaving for an 8-day vacation Monday and I've been scurrying about getting ready.

I'll wager a few of those ideas include a painting studio and sculpting area.  A bunch of wood and stone sculptures, and some topiaries, would really spice that courtyard up.  Looking forward to seeing stories where Art and Gwen have kids and they are put in the prince costume from generations.  That will make for some nice screen shots.  Now I'm really wanting to get pets.

Well, the entire fantasy thing just isn't me; so, I junked the castle and downsized (family and animals remain).

What I came up with is a Craftsman-inspired 3-bedroom, 3 bath bungalow, with full basement. It features a really elegant living room with fireplace, and dine-in kitchen, in addition to a formal dining room, and a den. Houses like this would have been common during the very early part of the 20th Century and some would have included a carriage house/stable for transportation before widespread use of automobiles, especially in more rural areas (like Appaloosa Plain).

The photo below shows the front of the house, with garage/stable in the rear (left). It's kind of bare at the moment, as I haven't done any landscaping.

The next photo shows the rear of the house and carriage house (at right).

The last photo shows the carriage house and a portion of the training area.

Sometimes simple is just better and this arrangement seems more appropriate to a young family with a stallion and two mares.

Bummer.  I would have loved to have downloaded  that castle after I got Pets.  Oh well.  Guess I'll just have to practice making my own.  New house still looks good though.

After MANY tries, I finally bred two Unicorn mares of the coloring and conformation I was seeking. Here are Miss Cricket and Miss Mouse, and their father, Merlin. I'll now have to acquire another stallion so I can breed to the two Unicorn mares. I released the two original Unicorn mares back to the wild.

I really liked the castle story too, but things don't always go the way we want, right? :P

Well thanks to MaryMarsh, I've made a similar castle. I'm in the middle of decor/landscaping

(sorry for the side track), I just wanted to throw in a thanks for the idea  ;D

That's a nice castle Wickedsimmer! What do you think about another "round" wall on the two towers of your castle and putting a cone-shaped, pointed, high roof on them and leaving the crenellate on?

Third Generation of Unicorns

Mister Swifty (left below) exhibits his mother's overall coloring, but has picked up his father's spots. It also appears that he's going to have a lion tail. Miss Pickle (right below) is a standard horse; she's picked up her mother's body and main coloring and her father's tail color. Father, Mystique (below rear) is the foals' father.

And he did get the lion tail, in addition to a beard.
