Well, the entire fantasy thing just isn't me; so, I junked the castle and downsized (family and animals remain).
What I came up with is a Craftsman-inspired 3-bedroom, 3 bath bungalow, with full basement. It features a really elegant living room with fireplace, and dine-in kitchen, in addition to a formal dining room, and a den. Houses like this would have been common during the very early part of the 20th Century and some would have included a carriage house/stable for transportation before widespread use of automobiles, especially in more rural areas (like Appaloosa Plain).
The photo below shows the front of the house, with garage/stable in the rear (left). It's kind of bare at the moment, as I haven't done any landscaping.

Sometimes simple is just better and this arrangement seems more appropriate to a young family with a stallion and two mares.
