Generation 2.7: The Most Dramatic Night in sim Frio history  
  
 
  
The Frio family plus their maid have gathered to celebrate Poseidon's birthday.  
  
 
  
He grows up into a well-dressed little gentleman. Little does he - or the rest of the family - know that the following night will be a nightmare to them.  
  
 
  
For it is time for Eve to leave sim earth.  
  
 
  
Poor, little Poseidon has to face such drama right after growing up. And Samuel is sad to lose the love of his life.  
  
 
  
The family graveyard with two gravestones that qualify for the gravestone requirement.  
  
 
  
But the ordeal was not over yet.  
  
 
  
They were soon awaken by the burglar alarm. I have to say that it was quite stupid from this burglar to break into a house where a police officer - Rhett Brandt - lives.  
  
 
  
A colleague of Rhett was soon there to catch the villain....  
  
 
  
... but he was beaten by the burglar.  
  
 
  
So it was time for officer Brandt to take over.  
  
 
  
Unfortunately he did not fare any better than his colleague before. Can you guess what Samuel is thinking there?  
  
 
  
He was thinking: "Time for us elders to come forward and show the youngsters what we are made of!"  
  
 
  
Oh yeah, this old man is made of steel, it seems. Rhett looks very embarrassed there, does not he?  
  
 
  
The burglar was definitely so beaten, that he obediently walked over to the patrol car all on his own and waited there, while the officer stayed indoors and chatted with Lydia.  
  
 
  
Little Poseidon feels strained and sad after all the drama of the night. Samuel seems to think that the family has hit rock bottom now and the only way from there is up.  
  
 
  
Abracadabra is also so shaken, that he spends the night staring at the toilet seat and does not even notice, that he is sitting in a pool of pee.

Generation 2.8: Almost there



In the previous chapter we lost Eve Frio-Keaton. Samuel Keaton was heart-broken and grieving for a long time.



But life had to go on. The whole Frio family tried to focus on every day matters and not let the sorrow take over. Samuel kept on sculpting and helped Poseidon with the homework.



Lydia still worked as a pivate investigator. Here she's working on the case of the tattooed thief. I don't know, what she is looking for there and why does she need a magnifying glass to see it.



Officer Rhett Brandt, Lydia's husband, was not afraid to get his hands dirty while digging for evidence.



Rhett had been wanting to interrogate Rudolf Frio for a long time. He suspected that Rudolf was a villain and felt that he would be able to shed a light on several unsolved crimes in Sunset Valley. But he arrived to the old Frio house a bit too late.



Rhett had not even pulled out his notebook, before the Grimmie interrupted the interrogation.



"He, hee. You'll never catch me now!"



Danita Frio, Rudolf's wife, was a cop. Somehow Rudolf had managed to keep his dealings hidden from his wife. So now it almost gave her a heart attack to hear Rhett reveal, that she had shared a home with a villain. Danita felt that it would have been best to keep a tight lid over a secret lke this.



She was completely heart-broken. Rhett felt her pain having also recently lost a family member.



"Danita, you are a strong woman. I'm sure you'll pull through this!"



One night, Lydia woke up with a peculiar feeling.



At that moment, Maeve was still out on a date with Chance in the Art Gallery.



But she felt the same sensation as her twin. They were adults now.



Cance was the first to congratulate Maeve. Once again he seems to have forgotten his pants, sigh.



Maeve was a clever woman. To overcome her embarrassment over her fiance's love of speedos, she decided to have their next date on a venue, where speedos were ok: the Maeve Frio Blue Pool. Yes, she owned the lot and had upgraded it among other things with a hot tub...



... which they put to a good use.



Maeve felt that things were finally going her way: her lovelife was flourishing and, on top of it all, she had reached her LTW and become a superstar athlete.



A superstar athlete always thows the ball harder and faster.



Poor Poseidon often felt this, when he played catch with his aunt.



Lydia had to wipe off this NPC from her almost completed list of required friends.



To compensate for the loss, she tried to make friends with the Grim Reaper. But how can you be friends with someone, who threatens to take away your son!



It turned out that the threat was only a bad joke from the Grimmie. He did not take Poseidon.



 The next time he visited the Frios, he came for Samuel. And Samuel was quite ready to go.



Now he can rest beside his beloved Eve. The Frio family graveyard has tombstones in every size.

Generation 2.9: I'm already there



After the elders, Eve and Samuel, were gone, Lydia and Rhett Brandt finally could claim the master bedroom for themselves. They celebrated this in their own way ...



... and Lydia soon felt the consequences of the act.



Poseidon had a birthday - but no party.



A true Frio, I must say. Poseidon is the spitting image of Connor, Aidan and Lydia.



Lydia's pregnancy progressed ...



... and ended like all the sim pregnancies do: with the birth of a new family member. She is Hannah.



"I'm already there! Time to party, yeah, yeah!" Maeve reached the top of the athletic career and became Sports Legend. With the final requirement thus fulfilled...



... Maeve finally could put to good use the wedding dress she grew into previously. Maeve and Chance Brandt got married in front of her required collection of space rocks.







All the relatives were present of course. From the left: Tina Madsen, Leticia Goth, Bridgett Brandt, Gerry Frio, Rhett Brandt, Emily Brandt, Poseidon Brandt, Angelita Gaddis*), Lydia Brandt and Danita Frio.

*) Angelita is Poseidon's girlfriend. I made him family oriented and gave him a girlfriend to see, if they will take the relationship further when they no longer are active. I was so frustrated that Leticia Goth remained single.



The second elder lady here is Imelda Madsen. The game seems to give all the elder women the same formal dress.





The Grim Reaper crashed the wedding party. He came to take Imelda Madsen.



But the young couple was blissfully unaware of the dramatic turn of events, when the taxi took them to their new home.



A final look at the second Frio home before a new beginning.



"Did you notice these magnificent space rocks?!"

By the way, the gnome pictures are not staged. They display the little creatures exactly the way I happen to find them in the game.

I'm sorry, it has been a while since my last update. You can blame the preparations of the coming holiday season for that.

Interlude 2: Getting ready for generation three



This is the new DecaDynasty home: the Cosmopolitan Lofts on 260 Sunnyside Blvd (the former home of the Roomies household)



Chance cannot believe he's married and Maeve cannot wait to start decorating her new home.



But first things first: generation three needs to be conceived...




...and Chance needs to start wearing proper pants instead of just speedos. He gets three new sets of everyday clothes, a nice pyjamas with bunny slippers, two formal suits, swim trunks (no speedos for him any more) and an athletic outfit he never gets to wear.




Since I have never shown what Maeve's wardrobe looks like, here it is.



Chance starts working on the Ghost Hunter career.



While Chance was dealing with the spirit invasion outside....



... inside Villa Alto ...



... the Grimmie came to get Holly Alto, the last inhabitant of the household. I don't remember if Chance got paid for his efforts that night.



Soon he got his first honour trophy at City Hall. It was nice that his sister-in-law Lydia was there to congratulate him.



She brought along her children, Poseidon and Hannah, who is already a toddler.

The new Frio household has two more members, I still have not introduced to you:



Bridgette Brandt (on the right) is Chance's twin sister. When she became playable, she had a girlfriend Karen Stanley, and I let her develop the relationship.



Chance's big sister, Emily Brandt, did not have a love interest, so I made her pursue Gerry Frio, Maeve's cousin, who still lives in the original Frio home.

By the way, Chance is the odd one in the family with black hair, while all his siblings (including Rhett who is married to Maeve's twin sister Lydia in case you had forgotten ) are blondes.





Emily and Gerry's relationship proceeded fast and they soon got engaged.



All this time Maeve had been pregnant and before you noticed, the third generation of the Frio DecaDynasty announced it's arrival.



This is Richard Frio, our next heir.



It will be a while before the new household has gnomes of its own, so here's a picture of the 'old' gnomes.

And yes, after a hiatus of almost two years, the Frio DecaDynasty is back!

I had to quit the story, because the laptop I had died (or so I thought) and I did not have a backup of the game. It wasn't until this summer, when my son found the old computer lying about, pressed the power button and, lo and behold, the computer just booted up as if nothing had been wrong with it. So, now I have the Frios running on my new laptop. This is also quite a miracle. I was sure the file would not work, since I have since installed several expansions I did not have on my old computer (I only had Ambitions and WA).

So now I am slowly getting into the Frio story, trying to remember who is who and what they were supposed to be doing. To refresh your (and my) memory of the main characters of this dynasty, I draw a small Frio family tree:



In my game I was quite far ahead of the story - the fourth heir was already a child - but the story*) continues with the third heir as a baby.

*) there won't be much of a story to begin with, since after 21 months I really don't remember where I was going with my sims. At least in the beginning I will just report on the progress with the pictures I had taken.

Generation 3.1: Definitely New Beginnings



Alas, we re-enter the story when the third heir - Richard Frio - is having his toddler birthday. His mother Maeve takes him to the cake. Sims cheering on the birthday boy are Richard's father Chance in the red vest, Karen Stanley - the girlfriend of Chance's sister Bridgette - and Maeve's cousin Letitia Goth, at least I think it is her. It really has been a pain to figure out who is who in my pictures.



Other guests include Maeve's twin sister Lydia Brandt (in the lilac dress), her husband Rhett (who is also Chance's big brother) and son Poseidon, and Danita Frio, the widow of Maeve's uncle Rudolf Frio.



Little Richard is pretty cute. Richard is a friendly little chap (he is missing the other trait).



Next big event in the household is the wedding of Emily Brandt and Gerry Frio. Emily is Chance's big sister and Gerry Maeve's cousin, the son of Danita and Rudolf Frio.





Emily is pregnant, as you can see, when she is walking towards the cab. The newlyweds will be living in the original Frio house at Sun Song Avenue.



Chance's other sister Bridgette, who still lives in the household, gets engaged to her girlfriend Anita.



Chance is a ghost hunter. "There must be an easier way to make a living", Chance seems to be thinking.



It cannot be pleasant to have your butt kicked by a ghost.



One night he had to deal with Ghostly Presence in the original Frio home...



...where we learn that Emily, still wearing her wedding dress, has given birth to a son, Bart.







At home, Richard is busy learning his toddler skills from his parents.



Chance wants to become a Chess Legend (if I remember right that was his LTW) and plays against a bunch of relatives: Gerry Frio,



... Maeve's aunt Tina Madsen ...



... and his brother Rhett Brandt, who has aged up to elder since the beginning of this update. No wonder Chance won this match - it must be hard to see the chessboard from under the bangs.



The younger relatives are aging up, too:



Bart is already a toddler...



... and in Maeve's original home, Lydia's daughter Hannah as well. The Frios have visited the house so often, that she has learned to walk from them.



Chance advances on his career and is a Rare Medium. He proudly presents his banshee banisher to Tina Madsen (now also an elder). She politely admires the device, but secretly thinks it is a load of rubbish.



Richard loves playing Attack with the Claw with mommy.



I always make sure I remember to check on the gnomes whenever my sims visit the old Frio homes.
