The launcher has stopped
« on: October 27, 2011, 03:28:50 PM »

I was able to run my game by launcher 5 minutes ago.
And now I can't run it via launcher.
I just can open it via TS3 in Bin.
My game is fully up to date.

Do you guys have the same trouble as mine?

I believe it's because you had your account logged in with the sims 3 website, I read something about it on the Facebook page earlier

I have had the same problem, but it appears to be only with the launcher.  There's a thread in the Technical Help forum by Pam about starting your game without the launcher.  I did that and it worked fine.  I assume there will be  patch to fix the problems from the last patch before too long.  (That's where I suspect this came from.)  At least you'll be able to play in the meantime.

Does it mean EA has a problem with launcher connection?

I'm having this problem, too.  It worked fine last night but it isn't responding this afternoon.  I am not logged in to the Sims 3 website, either.

I uninstalled Origin in the Control panel and now I'm playing fine.
Or guys you can run the game in TS3.exe (application file) in Bin folder.

This is a problem on EA's end and they are working on it.  I was able to run the game by bypassing the launcher.  I'm on my husband's laptop at the hospital right now, so I can't look to see how I did it.

Edit:  I just realized that we have a sticky topic on this board that gives instructions on how to bypass the launcher.

I too have come across this problem, but was able to play by doing the same thing Pam did.
I believe there is a guide on how to do so.

There is, right here. It will only work for Windows, however. I'm not sure if there's a Mac way to bypass the game launcher.
