I like to collect every animal that is out there in my sim house (like I like to collect everything that a sim can collect) but feeding al the animals will be a 24/7 job. Therefore I hope the butler and or maid will take care of it. Anyone who knows if this indeed is the case? And if so, how good are they with it?

Maids don't bother with minor pets.

I think that if they simply will 'ignore' the pets, all you need to have is a neat sim with Freewill on high. They will take care of the pets automatically I've saw with Max Skills.
