the nice thing about that lifetime reward bath thing is you buy it once and it will take care of any dogs/cats for remainder of that game file.

To add to on Jesyka's comment, none of my pets have gotten fleas since I purchased the hygienator.  At least one of my pets also uses it autonomously.

I have gotten fleas after buying the hygienator at least once but if the animals use it often enough they should never get fleas.  I think it's just an exposure time limit between baths in the hygienator and time spent outside.

I think they can't get fleas while they have the special "Extra Clean" moodlet from the hygienator. So if you use it a lot, you'll never get fleas - or it's a quick, simple process to take care of it with no further risk of contagion if you do get them. It's well worth saving up the points for.
