Reading Things for Work While on Holiday (doesn't work)

Not sure if this is a one off thing or what, but I had a sim in the business career have the career opportunity to read a book. She went on holidays before her next shift and while away, she read the book. Thing is, when she came home the opportunity was still there instead of saying to return to work to complete! I didn't realize this till after she had gone to work, so she couldn't read it till that night. When she returned to work the next day, she got the bonus for it. Has anyone else seen this happen? I thought I was being clever by sending her away to read it as I knew she wasn't going to get it read before the next work day because of her mood lol, guess it wasn't such a good move after all

I can't shed any light on your specific problem. However, it sounds very similar to another post I made. You may have see it on Interviewing/Questioning while on vacation. You can't do it. It all makes sense now because you can't even have Sims open their Work tab while on vacation. It's grayed out.

lol, maybe.  I guess it does make sense with the work tab grayed out and it does say you are on vacation and not to worry about work. Oh well, have to chalk it up to experience then. I'll know in the future not to try it.

Nope. As I suspected. You also can't Move and Quit Job from the computer while on vacation. Kind of obvious.

If you own a vacation property and have a computer there, that would seem to fulfill the requirements for working from home.  I think that all the non-quest related job "tones" would be disabled though.  I do know that you are able to up all the skills on vacations, so that should help with making sure you are qualified for new ranks once you get home.

I had this happen too.  I read a book on vacation, and then I couldn't complete the opportunity because it only said reread when I got home, so I couldn't get credit for the opportunity.

Did you reread it? Once I reread it and returned to work, I got the credit.

Nah, I didn't even try.  This happened on my legacy family so it didn't matter so much to complete opportunities.
