Ok so I tried this and clearing out my cache and DC something or another but still crashing. Do you guys actually get an error message or does it just quit working? I get no error message just the stupid windows message saying Sims 3 Pets as unexpected quit working? It's fusterating. I have never had anything like this happen before so I don't know what is wrong. Anymore suggestions?

In my country, many simmers get a higher specs of computer to play the Sims3 because they think The Sims3 usually takes a lot of CPU. So many simmers started to buy the Win7 64bit 4GB Ram computers since LN released. They think the windows cpu can't keep going with the Sims3 game with increasing EPs and as a result it crashes the game with no proper reason or just suddenly ends the game with no message. I'm not sure how you think of this in your country. It's just my personal opinion so it could be wrong. But at least, I've never get sudden crashes in my game. Just Sims bugs are driving me mad.
Very hard to be escaped from Sims.

Yes I do need a new computer as this one is about 5 years old or so but it was top notch gaming computer out at the time so I figured it would work ok for now! Man I sure hope that isn't the problem because it will be a while before I can afford to get my new computer and I don't know if I can live without Pets now!

@loveSims your reply is blank! Just my quote has showed up?

Edited: I think I may have found my problem I went to go submit a query to EA and it said to first check the specs of my computer vs what is needed and it told me how which I never really knew! And I don't think I have a good enough processor!   :'( It says it requires a 2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent which I don't know what equivalent to that is but I have an Intel Core 2 2.13GHz. Anyone know enough to tell me if that is my problem maybe?

Momofmany oops sorry! It was late and I write it without my glasses on lol. I get that same message twice after Townlife my cpu is 2.8 so that must be ok but my ram is 1.5. I'm not good at technical stuff but my daughter said my phisical memory was used up and windows shut the game down. I defrag my pc and it haven't crash for a month.

MomOfMany, my PC is also couple of years old with few things I had to change recently (Motherboard was burned out). I have Inter Core2Duo 2,4GHz and 2 GB of RAM, and I play on highest details without any problems (only sometimes render is slow, but not too slow), so far, with all EP's and SP's, even with CAW in huge detailed world. Graphic card had a lot to do with it, even if that is also few years old now.

I'm not much into tech stuff, but I would recommend to find some near you who is, and ask him/her to help you, it can be several things, but the best you can do (without buying anything) is to clean your PC, maybe even put a new system, update your drivers, do clean instal of game and try playing in window mode.

Thanks I am going to try it in windows mode next time even though I hate to play it in the windows mode! But in the long run I am going to get a new computer. It's needed anyways and my husband wants to upgrade to a mac so eventually that will be happening just hoping to find a way to play until then without having to spend money on my current computer!

I play in the window mode too. Yes I got error code 12, 14, 15, 16 in full screen play. Usually, I save my game once or twice a sim day but I got those error codes in full screen play. So I changed to window mode again.

I used to hate it too, but there are some advantages, like you can easily switch between forum and game, check screenshots you took, etc. I also like having a clock visible since I easily loose track of time while playing Sims.
I had crashing with LN and ever since I play in window mode, maybe it will work now in fullscreen but I got used to it and wouldn't change it anyway. As I type, game is loading 8) Good Luck!

There are no dumb questions!

It is available for everyone, while in game go to Options/Display and you will see little mark for Fullscreen - uncheck it and you'll see how it looks. You'll have 15 or so seconds to accept the change, and you can change it back anytime. At first it looks bad, but you can get used to it fast, specially if it stop game from crashing ;)
