Thought about that. But I think it might be kind of funny for them to be The Blows. However the kids might still have her last name, I will need to check that. Have I mentioned how challenging it is for me to name my Sims? Gah you'd think I was preparing a thesis paper or something as much time as I spend thinking about it.

The kids will have whatever their mother's last name is at the time of birth.  So, if her name is Blow, that's what the kids names will be.

I wrote down a bunch of names on a divided piece of paper (One side for boys, other for girls) and look up some names online so I can just flip through the paper and find a name in no time. :) That's how I solved my problem that was like yours, because trust me, I could sit there forever trying to figure out a good name. Now it only takes a moment to find one on my piece of paper...

I wasn't sure if you knew that a parent Sim can go to City Hall and change their kid's names as well. I have been able to do this on any day of the week.

I agree, picking a name can be very challenging. It took forever for me to think up a first name, and then to have to come up with a last name too - gee, even picking out names for my real life kids wasn't this hard, lol.

Last names are the easy ones. My normal rule is to take a fruit and then combine it with an object and it usually sounds good.
Examples:
The Applefield family
The Lemontree family (yes, I got it from the song; Fool's garden rocks)
The Cherrybranch family
The Berrybush family
The Peahill family

More than these I often use the same system, but instead have the Swedish words. Äppelkvist, Päronträd etc. all works every time.

Pruneface might be an exception.

Well ha, ha Metro. Very funny!
I did say "usually sounds good". I said to myself 5 minutes after that post: "Someone's going to make a joke about that eventually". :)

I think someone started a name topic on here somewhere, I don't think many people suggested names towards it. I have sometimes gone on the baby names of the year websites!  ;D

I have had the same problem, whether my sims were ex's from marriage or relationships, the "going steady" would never show up.  I had made this sim girl and her relationship ex was Christopher Steel.  She got together with an ex maid that I had move in.  Option for "going steady" never came up, for as long as they had been together.  He turned elder and I wanted her to have one more baby and they were doing their romantic interactions, he was doing the asking and it came up "break up with rebecca", I went excuse me, lol.......I guess she had gotten a girlfriend somewhere, not sure where since I play this couple all of the time, anyway, I had her break up and then all of the options came up, "go steady, engaged and marriage", so I finally made an honest woman out of her.  That is the first time that had came up out of all of the sims, so maybe something is fixed, going to try another couple and find out

Our topic is problems getting proposal options, not thinking of names.  To continue talking about names, please dig up the name thread that samoht mentioned.  Thanks!

Well, I tried another couple and they could finally get married, so, now going through the couples that couldn't get married before and try again.  Not sure what happened, but I am not complaining about it.  One didn't even show up as an ex like it use to, just had the symbol best friends.
