This is the only forum I actually connected with people outside of the forum. As much as I have real life friends, I have followed you guys on Twitter, etc. This is the only place that really knows their Sims 3 Stuff in game play terms! The official forum members can't even remember the names of the premade townies!  :D

The moderators and administrators are the most helpful group of people I've ever came across. Kudos to you guys.  :)

It's amazing how rude and snobby those tech savvy Simmers can be on the official forum! They've gone as far as trying to explain and even tamper with a program they know absloutly nothing about! (Not talking about the game play either).

Well, I guess I can put my two cents worth in here.  I will have to agree with everyone.  I am registered on the sims3 site, but I think I have like 20 posts and then I found this site.  It has had its ups and downs, but has come out on top, as usual.  Carl has put alot of work into this site, along with Pam and Metro and it shows and a big thanks to all of the members that come here everyday. :)

I'm not even registered at the official site, I saw this one and knew that I would never want to join the other one.

I've registered at the official forums, and tried to ask for help a few times. I got ten replies, and out of those,
-Four had completely wrong advice.
- One suggested I get a mod.
- Two were basically insults.
- One was spam, I think.
So that leaves two replies that were actually helpful... Wow.
Here, everyone gets insightful and kind advice, without any rudeness or anything like that. Any one doing the wrong thing is dealt with smoothly, and justly.
I'm here to stay, that's for sure. This is the best forum ever, and even though we keep on growing, we just keep on getting better. Thank you a million Carl, Pam, moderators, and members. :)

The thing I noticed whilst reading the thread that Esther linked to,was that it was page after page of the same thing. Its the graphics card, its not the graphics card etc etc. Around these parts Pam would have locked the post around about the bottom of page one because there would be no point in discussing it anymore. She would have also sent out some stern PMs to those members who were being rude.

I would just like to say thanks to Carl for writing a guide to one of the best games ever and thanks to Pam for keeping us all in line.

Rachel, I absloutly agree with you! As a moderator, you would be sending tons of PM's to those people, along with Pam herself. I think they broke the number one rule on this forum: No bashing EA posts!

Bashing EA in general is annoying in my opinion, which is why this is the number one rule on this forum. It brings the mood down, and it's just down right annoying! In fact this is the face I make every time I read those threads.  ::)

@Jeana
I thought the number one rule was "No Mod Discussion". I mean, they can mess up your game... anyway, I'm offtopic. Back on topic.

The only reason I use (or have used) the Official Forums is simple: Once I needed to desperately ask a question pertaining to mods, which I obviously can't here. Out of the several responses, I found only one nice person. The others seemed to treat me like an idiot (though they might not have. It was a while back). Here, if I asked a question with a simple answer, I wouldn't get a rude response. If I did, it would be gone quickly, because of the AWESOME Moderative team.

That was before i joined…  ;D

I have to say that either you admins and mods are super feet at your job, or you are insanely lucky and have hardly anything to worry about. The forum is spotless.

I'm so glad you said that Esther! I don't really go on the official forums. Anyway, the moderators here are just amazing and I've never seen a forum like this before. Even on this childrens site my cousin goes on, the comments are all pointless. So yeah, thanks a lot!

Yes, I would!  ;D

It's mostly the first thing you mentioned.  We do get spam and have various issues to deal with on a regular basis.  There's quite a bit that goes on behind the scenes that members rarely see.  I think sometimes new Moderators are a little surprised at how much really goes on.  It's working, though, so I'm very happy.

It really is wonderful to read these comments.  Our goal from the start was to have a solid forum that's friendly, safe, and helpful.  It's awesome to hear that we've been successful thus far.  We're only about half way through the Sims 3 era, there's still going to be a lot going on and a lot of growth in the future, and our goal remains the same.

*standing ovation*

I just want to agree with what everyone had said.  This forum is far and away the friendliest, most helpful, best moderated place I have ever found on the internet.

Many thanks to Carl, Pam, Metro, and the moderators for all the time and effort they put into keeping this forum friendly and safe, not to mention all the time and effort they put into creating the guide.

Many thanks as well to all the members here, not only for your individual contributions to the guide and the forum, but for being a truly spectacular group of people.

Good luck with your new computer, Esther!  I just got a new system, too, and I think you will be really happy when you can bump up the graphics and get some of the detail you may have been missing before.

Agreed! EVER, And am register in many forums!
Yeah, it's like me without glasses! I was missing so much! I can't wait to update my computer in 5 years  :P Good luck! Forget all those mean people.

I'll revive this tread to thank Carl and Pam once again for creating such a wonderfull environment for all of us. Recently many of us saw how hostile and unpleasant EA official forum can be, and gain even deeper appretiation for our friendly and respectable community.

Thank you once again. I'd probably quit Sims if that was the only place to go to. I'm so glad I have here!  ;D

Indeed.  For me, this cannot be said enough.  So...here:

I'm glad to be a part of this wonderful community.  Thanks to Carl and Pam for bringing it into existence, and thanks to all of you who have made this forum what it is today.
