Ok, I know that I probably shouldn't make a whole new thread, and the mods can delete it if you want, but I have been on the official forums trying to figure out my weird pet situation and everyone on there made me realize how much I love it here and reminded me of how people in the real world act. I want to thank Carl, Pam and all the people on here that make this the best place to be. Last thing I want to say is the last comment I made on the official forums. It says it all. I talked to a friend of mine, and he's going to build me a new computer with enough power to run this. I don't want to be rude like other people, so all I'm going to say is thankfully now I can go back to the forums I love and the forums that support someone and doesn't badmouth you.    If any of the friendly, helpful people want to join me there, the link is here. Nothing against the official forums, but everyone on my favorite forums are friendly, helpful and just plain awesome. That's the main reason I have been a "member" of these forums since the beginning of 2010 and have less than 50 posts. Over on my forums I have over 4,500 posts.  Thanks for trying to help, but I'm going back to a friendlier atmosphere.

I have to say that I read that thread on the official forum (you linked to it in a Pets thread, and I was worried my graphics card wouldn't work) and I was truly shocked about how rude some of the members were over there. I actually couldn't believe it! So I have to agree with everything you said Esther, long live Pam and Carl's Forum!

I agree. Hopefully Carl and Pam are here forever!! I don't understand why they are rude like that. Rudeness is never the answer, and it's the ones that have no problems that are being rude. If they had a problem, I guarantee they wouldn't want to have someone being rude and saying "Oh it's just cause your computer is crappy!" People need to put themselves in others shoes before speaking.

Yeah, that's why I barely go to the official forum. That forum isn't moderated as well as this one is so there are rude people everywhere. But I've learned to just ignore them when I go there. My guidelines are: If they're not being helpful, they're not worth replying to.

I agree, I'm really glad everyone's so nice.
I was looking for custom worlds a while ago, and found a thread on some different forum (not the official one) where someone asked if anyone hard any good worlds. One member shared a world she had built, which I guess wasn't very good. instead of just telling her that nicely, about seven people started insulting her, and one person even told her to die. I'd post a link, but they used a ton of bad language.
So yeah, that really made me appreciate how nice everyone is.

Thanks for sharing a link to us for anyone else who might want to come here. I am glad that you love it here so much, and to see others saying so as well. As long as people feel that way it will be here. We aren't planning to go anywhere any time soon

I'm happy you will get an upgrade soon. You are going to love it even more with the graphics turned up a notch!

I have to say, my computer has always had low-graphic quality, but not to the extent it is now, I just thought it was from not being an expensive computer. I can't wait to be able to see what they are supposed to look like!!

I have been on many websites, some forums, and YouTube quite a bit. I honestly think that this is the best website I have ever, ever, ever been on. I want to thank Carl and Pam as well as all the moderators. You put in a great deal of work, even though we can probably not see much of it, and I think you all deserve a medal. I see people talking about Sims and mention this forum. I told a simmer in my class to come here (although she hasn't yet, as far as I know). You're all an inspiration for me.
And we can't forget the members - all of you, from the little newbies to the big Legendary Members, you're all so kind. I've said it before, but if this had been any other forum, I would've registered, made my little correction (pointing out a duplicate in the sitemap), and be long gone. It's threads like these which I like - threads to thank the people who are awesome. Members, Moderators and Administrators... you're all awesome. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!!!

Awesome thread! I registered here a while ago but didn't have the time to keep up with anything, but I returned as I spend most the day on my own now my boyfriend has full time job!

I have to say, every other game I play, be it Left 4 Dead, League of Legends, Haven and Hearth or Team Fortress 2, their communities all seem to be clogged up with immature people. This is the only exception I have found. Love the community feeling this forum brings to the Sims 3, just what it needed, in my opinion, to keep my interest in the game!

Good job guys, very much appreciated all the hard work you go into to making it a friendly place to kill some time!

I just want to agree with what everyone had said.  This forum is far and away the friendliest, most helpful, best moderated place I have ever found on the internet.

Many thanks to Carl, Pam, Metro, and the moderators for all the time and effort they put into keeping this forum friendly and safe, not to mention all the time and effort they put into creating the guide.

Many thanks as well to all the members here, not only for your individual contributions to the guide and the forum, but for being a truly spectacular group of people. 

Good luck with your new computer, Esther!  I just got a new system, too, and I think you will be really happy when you can bump up the graphics and get some of the detail you may have been missing before.
