The fish is invisible after 1.26 patch

After installing 1.26 patch, I started a new game with Claire Ursine in Sunset Valley.
I wanted to let her master the fishing skills so I let her fish in the central park.
And then...





As you see, she is very pleasing with nothing in her hand. 
So I just got into the Edit Town and placed a female sim
and switched to the active household from Claire.
 I let my sim,Amy to get a fish class in the market and let her fish with Claire.





Now she is fishing with links.






She is very happy with her first INVISIBLE Fish or I am Blind...





I can see the red herring in her inventory...



Is it happening ONLY In my game???

No, unfortunately it is not happening only in your game. Hopefully EA will jump on this very, very soon because it's a serious bug when we're talking about a popular skill in the game getting whacked out..

My Sim has lost not just the fish but when he selects the bait, the fishing icon just disappears.  He can only "Fish" not "Fish with bait".  I found it first in WA in Champs Les Sims and though it was just Bridgeport.  I tried my other character in Sunset Valley and the same thing happend to her.  Today, I created a new Sim and while she can choose the bait she has the disappearing fish issue.

And what went wrong with the carrots?  There is no picture when you buy it from the store, no picture in the inventory and you can't plant it.  I can't see any recipe for them either.

I can't fish with bait in WA countries. Where do you find carrots? I've never noticed it after patch.

Yes Fishing is very important to me because it's necessary to do gardening and cooking. Can you order omni seeds through the postbox? I can't at the moment.

This has been a bug ever since Late Night.  There is a work around under Miscellaneous Help if I remember correctly.

The "Fish with bait" Option is still available for my Sim in Bridgeport and bail can be chosen as well. However, my Sim had no response thereafter.
P.S. Fish with lure has no problem.

I found that reason after all!! Try to make a new sim from CAS or pick a NPC for your active household who you haven't played at all since the latest patch. You will be able to fish with baits and you can see invisible fish or all fishes are anchovy you catch. I was not able to fish with baits with my active household I've been managing before the patch. So I saved the same household into CAS. Back to main menu, clicked a new game, opened the create a sim, and I took the same household with NO SKILLs and story at all. Now he is able to fish with baits but all the fish he catch is all anchovies...

Yes after starting a new game with a new created sim from CAS, I was able to see the fish and all of them look like anchovies. XD
I'd like to lead my household has made since LN continuously but they are not able to fish with baits all.
After choosing the bait, the process is cancelled. Pets doesn't welcome the household before the Pets.

Answer for Summers:  You can buy carrots from the Supermarket for $11 but they don't have any picture at the store, nor in your inventory when you buy it.  You then can't do anything with it.  If you try to plant the carrot, the invisible carrot causes the ground to be unusable for any further plant or anything.  All you get is the "no interaction possible" message.

BUT I can take photographs again.

Yes I found the carrots in the market but actually they work in my game. Carrots are visible and Eat action is available. I'm currently living in the Fire Station and let my sim learn the Gardening skill at the Science Facility. Now I'm trying to let my sim plant them. I have 3 actions for the carrots, 'eat', 'plant' and... don't remember now. But in the Fire Station, I'm not allowed to plant them. I'd like to try it in my lot after work. My sim is a Fire Fighter.

Also..I tested the excavation in China, it worked definitely!!! I feel like indigestion has gone from my stomach!!

I tested the excavation in China and IT WORKS!!! but the fishing doesn't. 

Haven't tried the photography as I haven't yet sent her to Egypt.

Okay - I sent her to Egypt to buy the best camera.  I took a photo and she disappeared... then she came back after I paused the game then set to speed 1.  'heavy sigh'.

'Happy dance' over excavation.  Now Tears of Horus is worthwhile.  I got some nice collectable relics in those excavation sites.

Fishing in Egypt worked fine so long I had didn't have too many fish in the inventory.  As soon as I had more than 4 varieties, it shut down all fishing options.  I could select an option but it just disappeared.  I sold off a few extraneous fish and it worked again.

Problem on return to Sunset Valley is that all the certificates for completing the skills disappeared.  No biggie... but I seem to have attracted a string of Vampire Gnomes which keep breaking my shower, dishwasher, and sink.  Toilet is already unbreakable.  So I upgraded the rest to unbreakable instead of self-cleaning and I'm hoping that stops that part of the problem.  Every time I see a new Gnome, I now make an easy $1,000 selling it. It is possible to turn off the Gnomes?  If not, what attracts them so I can get rid of it?
