The first Pets Guide: Dogs has been uploaded to the site. I look forward to dissecting just how you can get dogs and cats to have certain traits. Thanks for any tips you provide here or on the corrections board.

Carl, you can add on traits by using the Reinforcement interaction. Ricalynn on another thread found you can have as many as 7 total, possibly more.

7 or more? That is awesome! But up to 5 are visible I assume?

Great job Carl! Now I have something to read today while installing the game (yes, it's downloading right now! :D)

My cat has seven traits and a little scrollbar in that window to allow me to see the two under the top five.  The trained traits are all highlighted with a green box and if I can get a screenshot in a little bit, I'll try.

I saw that thread and I'm really glad I did. You could easily jump to the conclusion there should be a max of 5, but that's definitely not the case. I will try to help figure out what types of activities trigger certain kinds of traits.

For the horses article I just submitted I basically ran the last two days with static needs on while waiting for the foal to be born that's in the last screenshot. The stallion and the mare were constantly at each other and making lots of noise. I did not intervene at all and just let them do whatever. Shortly before the foal was born I got the notice that the mare had a new trait added — Noisy. Yeah, no kidding. Lol.

I noticed while I was playing the cat or dog that every now and then a picture would appear above his head with little green arrows.  That picture directly coincides with the picture used to the trait it is learning.

My cat and kitten were doing some goofing around and they both got playful.  The litter box was outside and after a few days they both got neat.  Grooming also goes for neat.  My older cat got hunter from playing with the catnip mouse.  My dog got non destructive from constantly using a chew toy.  I had a puppy get piggy because I didn't stop him from playing in the puddles the horse left behind.  The only notification they are training is the symbol like I mentioned as far as I can tell.
