Edit in CAS reset age?

I searched the forum, and I couldn't find anything about this, but I think I read somewhere that if you take a sim into CAS with the edit in CAS cheat it resets their age. Is this true?

Every time I've done it, and it wasn't on the birthday of the Sim, it happened.  I've never not had Edit in CAS reset age.

And this works on any age?
And will it work right when you start a new game? (to give them the maximum times til they age up)

So the age is reset to - what?  Back to the beginning of the current age range?

That's what I mean with the word "reset"

It always resets back to the beginning of the current lifestage.   As far as I know, it should work at the beginning of a new game.
