Ch. 13: Expanding the Family

Omar had been working really hard at his career. His boss recommended a book for him to read, and Omar didn't even make it into the house after work that day before he started reading.

Omar's boss, Panther Character, was extremely nice to my husband. He was frequently at our house, and he and Omar quickly became best friends.

As for me, I advanced quickly in my career and was soon making house calls. I was in awe at many of the homes these people owned.

I don't know how, but when I saw this one house, it felt so very familiar to me. Maybe I had a dream about it or something... I just couldn't place my finger on it.

*I built this one. :D

But even though I was working hard out in the field, I still worked hard while at home researching and designing new fashions.

Cashew aged into an old dog. At first I was sad to see him so grey, but then I just laughed because he hadn't had a very hard life! I spoiled that dog.

We also bought a bird. We named him Lemon. I probably should have gotten a cage though, because Lemon flew all around the house all the time!

Finally, Omar and I decided to start a family. We weren't exactly rich. In fact, this house had cost us our entire small fortune, and we could only even fill half of it! But Omar was flying through the corporate ladder, with the help of Panther, and I was at a comfortable level of pay with my profession. I was so very happy.

Omar was very involved in my pregnancy. He was always asking about the baby and wanting to listen to it move around in my tummy.

Omar really wanted a girl, but I really wanted to be surprised, so I kept to a strict non-fruit diet.

I started getting labor pains while I was working on a new clothing design.

This is when my dear Cecily was born.

I know I said Omar was very involved in my pregnancy, but he was even more so involved with Cecily! He would spend hours just watching her in her swing, playing peek-a-boo.

Oh, you know what? I completely forgot to mention that Peanut was pregnant! She gave birth to three adorable puppies, right next to Cecily. Their names were Dusty, Lucky, and Luna.

I don't know if you all have heard of Pam's famous toddler races, but here's the same idea but with puppies!
There's Lucky running in the lead with Luna at a close second, while Dusty brings up the rear!

But Lucky stumbles, putting Luna in first place! Will Dusty be able to catch up?

At the last second, Dusty trips and falls on his face! That means first place goes to Luna!

Ch. 14: Cashew's Time

Cecily grew up so quickly. We had a small cake and just the three of us to celebrate.

She looked just like I did at that age, but she had Omar's dark brown hair.

Cecily loved to play with her toys.

One of the puppies even took a special interest in her!

Omar's job was finally easing up and giving him more time at home. He made sure that Cecily learned how to talk.

I on the other hand, wasn't the best teacher. I spent too much time just adoring my little girl.

Life was perfect. We were happy and finally making some real money from our careers. Cecily was the perfect toddler. Peanut and Cashew were enjoying their new littler. But the happiness couldn't last forever. Grim came for Cashew.

I ran outside when I heard the howling.

Anger welled up in me when I saw him touching my precious Cashew. But then I saw that Cashew was happy to see Grim. Maybe it was really just his time to go.

Grim was never mean to him and treated him with only affection. Then they suddenly took off into a portal.

I was devastated.

However, I found solace in the three new puppies. They were a part of Cashew after all. They all three grew up into wonderful dogs. Luna.

Lucky.

And Dusty.

Cecily is so cute! R.I.P Cashew though, but at least you still have his kids.

Thanks guys. I know not a lot of people are reading, but the comments are very encouraging! This may actually turn out to be 11 generations for the sake of 10 showing up on the family tree, since Brianna and Omar moved and all. Or who knows, maybe I'll just keep going and going! :D

So...I burst into tears when Grim came for Cashew. I am so embarrassed! Thank you for a great story and inspirations to start my own.

I was sad to see him go, too. It reminded me of when I lost my first dog. :'( I'm very happy that you're enjoying my story, though!

Thank you! I actually had enough pictures for a small update, but then something unexpected happened in the game, so now I'm trying to figure out just how to work it into the story. You won't be disappointed, though. :)

Ch. 15: Deception?

Cashew's death was not easy for me at first. He was my first pet. But no matter what happens, you know you just have to put on a brave face and fight through it.

I was dreading my Adult birthday. Luckily, Omar only insisted I have a cake instead of a full-fledged party. As soon as I blew out those candles, I just felt old. I learned later that I was just having a Mid-Life Crisis, but at the time, I felt I really needed to do a few things to feel young again.

I started by working out. If I was to ever feel young again, I knew I had to get back into my pre-mom hot bod.

I also threw myself into my work again. I'll admit, there was one house that I was rather terrified to visit, but I put on my brave face and just got it over with.

Cecily grew up into a wonderful child.

I thought she looked quite like me at that age.

Omar and I had been saving up to be able to decorate Cecily's room any way she saw fit (well, any way within the budget). Her favorite color was purple, just like me.

I was so proud on Cecily's first day of school. She was excited in the morning, but later on, she told me how upset she was that she had to ride the bus on her fist day.

Cecily was a curious child. She spent many hours at the new telescope we bought for her.

More than once, I caught her hurrying to do her homework in the morning before school because she had been up all night at the telescope.

A few days later, I noticed something odd about Omar. He had been spending an awful lot of time at home, and he started going out at nights. I didn't ask him why his schedule had changed because I was afraid to find the answer. We were living in a large house with lots of dogs and a spoiled child, and I knew that the money I was bringing in from my job was barely contributing to a third of our expenses... One night, I could contain my curiosity no more. I watched as Omar got into a white truck with someone.

It was very late at night, and I had made sure Cecily was already asleep. Then I followed my husband. Secretly, I had hoped that maybe Omar had been switched to night hours, but I couldn't think of a single politician who repeatedly worked from 9 pm to 3 am.

My fears had come true. That run-down building was definitely not the town hall, and I lost it. I felt like ripping my hair out. What else could he possibly have been doing there? My dear husband Omar was a criminal!
