Try finding or buying one of the gnomes that has a sign.  As far as I know they're like Sleeping McNulty where they stay still but they should have strays come to you.  From what I understand anyway.   The only time I've seen a stray was during the night.  I got no notice that a stray was at my door and I had to wake up my sim to go meet the cat.  I barely noticed him scratching at my door because the game gives no notification and everyone in the house was asleep.

The wild animals are a little harder to find sometimes.   In AP, the places I've found for wild animals has been next to the fire house is a bird spawn, in of the graveyard off the lot and to the left is a lizard spawn. There is a bird spawn to the right of the graveyard in the back near the pet cemetary. A turtle and a bird spawned at Cinnamon Falls.  A hedgehog wasn't that far away either at the end of the path that leads up to the upper most section where the really rich people live.  Across from the junkyard, I saw two different spawns.  There is a trail from the junkyard to the water treatment plant that almost always has a wild horse just standing there.  A bird spawned in the middle of the football field like thing behind the school and a lizard just off the field next to a tree leading to the firehouse.

That's all I can think of right now though, Sorry.

Okay, thanks for the info.  I didn't realize the new gnomes actually did anything.  I will give it a try.  My sims keep getting the wish to see a racoon but I've had no luck so far.  I've found a cardinal, but that is it.

Every time one of my Sims or pets wanted to see a raccoon or play with a raccoon I realized it was because something happened in their world to cause the reaction.  My cat loves playing with raccoons every time he sees one.  My sim seems to want to see one every time they mess with the trash can.

I was only able to download pets this morning so very limited play on it so far but:

Is there another dog bed anywhere? The one on buy mode is HUGE! An adult sim could easily curl up and sleep in it.  My little doggy needs a bed about 1/6th that size.

How to do you get your sim to take the dog back home with it after an outing together? Mine just got a taxi home and went to bed, leaving the poor dog to run all the way.

Then I decided to try one of the town sims and picked one with a horse.  Turns out she's a celebrity and being chased around by the paparazzi so didn't like that much. I need to find another horsey person to give it a true trial I think. Trouble is I'm still a beginner in the sim world so don't do well handling 2 sims at once, hence me choosing a single sim. I don't know if there's another single with a horse?

So basically I'm experimenting and sat on the fence at the moment.

For info: if anyone else is downloading instead of using a disc you need to remember to restart once it's installed.  I forgot and thought I'd messed up my laptop as it kept freezing, but once I restarted the laptop it was fine.

Lesley - there are multiple beds.  One for cats and small dogs and big ones for big dogs.  Try going to the pet category while in buy mode to see everything available.

I just want to share something.  I was thinking about restarting my DecaDynasty challenge with one of the Appaloosa families.   The one I chose was the Marshalls.   Kim Marshall is the Ex-Wife of Barrington Diamond.   Felipe Marshall is the Ex-Husband of Juanita Blanco.  Barrington Diamond and Juanita Blanco make up the Sports and Spice household and are expecting a nooboo in the first week of a new game.

Barrington is also one that has 8 skillpoints in painting for dynasty players.  Just remember if you choose him, he has a ex-wife and a baby mama and they are not the same person.

Oh Wow. All I can say is that I absoulutely love this Expansion pack. I've hardly done anything and I'm in love with it! Best one so far for me! At first I was sceptic at how thin the Greyhounds looked in width, I can tell you that they are not a narrow dog, well my one wasn't and I would know she ran head first into me.  :P Anyway I still love this Expansion and when I wake up this morning later today... I'll be uploading some Pics I got.  :D

EA did the greatest job on this EP. I love it so much.  Horsies are so realistic! And I would know 'cause I have one  :P. It's so cute!
I do have one question though.. Where that heck can I find wild horses!?

I found them at the Pond up in the Hills but it took a few days. If you want a trick go into Map View and find the shadows moving very quickly around open countryside, thats how I found them.

Finally pulled myself away from the game to post here. :P  Loving this expansion!  I love the feel of the new neighborhood, the fall leaves are so pretty, and there are some interesting new Sim families.  But of course, THE PETS!!!  So cute & fun!  Like Pam said earlier, I have a hard time paying attention to my Sims because it's all about the pets!

Ok, heading back to my game now!  ;D

I like the game.  I haven't got a chance to play that much but from what I have played it's pretty cool.  I like how they added a lot of new furniture and things.  BTW, im new to the forum!!  :)  I got a horse and was wondering, how do I build it a stall, so it can go to the bathroom??  I built a barn, thinking that the horse would go in there, but it doesn't.  I clicked inside for him to go in but it won't so I think i dont have the right door or something.  its a 1 story barn and when i looked for barn doors they all say 2 story?? and i guess that have to have a stall for them to go to the bathroom, so how do i make that?  thanks!

I agree my poor sim is like hungry trying to keep her horses happy. It's hard to pull away from the game isn't it?  :P

My Horse goes to the bathroom wherever he pleases but only when the bladder bar is yellow.  They don't have to have a specific spot to go as far as I can tell.  Just click on them when the bar is yellow and it should just give you the option.

My first impression: I have none. I've been either staring at the cuteness that is my dog (A Schipperke, incidentally), or riding on the awesomeness of my horse.

Welcome to the forum. To get a stall, go into buy mode, select by function (not room) then go to pet essentials. From there pick horses (naturally lol) and you will find two in the very bottom row. As was said though, they can pee anywhere when they need to, although if they pee in the stall, your sim can then clean the stall and get horse fertilizer that they can use on the garden.

My first impression was really positive. Although I had a lot to learn about this game before I was actually able to play.
I've placed a cat in my household, focussed on that animal (caring, training, loving it) and later on I've added a dog with it. Now there is a horse range attached for one horse, one unicorn and one foal. The foal was pet trained from the wild, the horse came from CAP.

What I think I love the most is all the things that influences winning with a horse competition: both sim and horse need to be trained to stand a change to win, and even now they are maxed in their related skill and they also have fulfilled most of the skill oppertunities, they still don't always have a change to win.
I need to explore it more. :)

I just got Pet's today, and have been playing it for a few hours.
Pets seems really good so far, apart from one small problem with CAP... But apart from that, everything seems great. The Tunics have brought a puppy, and I soon discovered that you need to built up a relationship with pets before you get to have much fun with them! I couldn't help taking snaps of the gorgeous puppy, either!

I also like the new objects, especially the ranch style ones. But what I'm really loving is all the new CAS clothing items! There is an amazing variety of new adult clothes. I can see myself using them a lot. :)
Introducing... The Tunics
Sadly, no longer. Please see the link.
