I checked on my dynasty house which had a spiral staircase.   I think it took me an extra 5 minutes of loading time today then it had previously and of course, the heart stopping part was this is what I stared at for 4 whole minutes before something else appeared on their lot.

The spiral staircase did not give me issues though.  One of my Sims was able to walk up and down.  He was even able to slide down it.  What exactly was the issue you were having Salty?

I'm having issues getting the launcher to first recognize that there is a new patch and then function long enough to download/install the darn thing.

EDIT: EA finally got around to posting the super patch for 1.26, hopefully this will work as my launcher hates me :P

...yeah, the excavation fix is cool too, I suppose.   :P

I may actually play the Sims again soon.  I had kind of sworn it off for a bit because of this (I never downloaded the patch responsible, but I didn't want to take the chance).  Would be a nice little break from my current gaming project.  I'm going to download the patch now!

Even if this is the case, I could live with that.  It's easy enough to work around, while not being able to excavate and use photography is not.

Is the patch super slow for everyone or is it just me?  I started it almost an hour ago and it is only up to... (let me check) 39%.  At this rate, I won't even get to check it out tonight :(.

I started downloading less than an hour ago (possibly only 15 minutes ago), and I'm nearly done. The updater is at around 60%. I'm patching manually.

EDIT less than a minute later: I'm done. It's fully patched.

Another half hour and we're at 63%.  Well, at least it hasn't stopped.  I hope, when it's all said and done, the patch offers something I'm interested in.

I just updated and it took about 10 minutes or so.  So far no problems that I have come across but I've only been playing for about 1/2 hour.  My spiral staircase is working fine after the update.

A little over 2.5 hours but it's finally done.  I also got the Store patch, which was done almost before I finished clicking "ok"  ;D (Probably because I have zero store stuff).  Anyway, I logged on just long enough to figure out whether anything had been broken.  All looks fine.  Of course, it's too late now to play.  Oh well, there's always tomorrow.

@ricalynn, my sims get stuck upstairs and when I tell them to go downstairs, they stomp their foot like there is a pathing issue, same with trying to go upstairs.  I tried it in two households so far and bshag is having the same issue.  I am not really that upset about it, if that is the worst thing to come from this patch, then I am good. :)

My patch went pretty quickly once I got it to actually go.

I haven't tried a spiral staircase yet, but I have had the thing with not being able to interact with a baby in its crib except to "hold". This was only slightly inconvenient until I tried to have a birthday party for the baby - the "have birthday" action from the cake wouldn't queue up until someone was holding her.

I haven't played much with the patch yet, but my game seems to be running fine so far. It distinguishes between store and CC now! The new patterns are lovely, there's a couple in most of the categories.

Excavation works? WOOT! I never thought they'd get round to fixing that!  :D

Not only that, I've just done a full reinstall, and hadn't gone into the game files to fix the version number thingy to make CAW work. And it WORKS! Another fix!
