New Expansion Pack Announced! Ambitions!

The video was jumpy for me so I looked for it on youtube but came across this - which is a short interview with some EA guy and there is a screen behind him with the new world on, it's a sea side! You also get to see inside the fire station.

I can't wait and I just got an e-mail that mine has shipped! Now I really can't wait! I didn't think it would ship till after the 2nd but more than thrilled to see it shipped early!

Aw, I'm sorry you guys can't see the video, maybe if you go to gamespot.com and do a search for it?  It shows a lot of interesting stuff, like how you do investigations, and what it looks like when there's an emergency at the firestation, it's super cool!

I just went over to my local Gamestop and bought the Prima Guide!  

If anybody has any questions about the game, I'll look it up and answer for you.

I've got the Prima Guide coming, too.  A word of warning...  the Prima Guides are notorious for having incorrect information.  I believe they are written from beta versions of the expansion packs, then some things get changed before the official release.  The Prima Guide is a decent starting point, but we'll have better and more correct information on Carl's Sims 3 Guide as we start writing articles about Ambitions.

I know, but I guess if somebody has a question about like what kind of new places there are, how the skills work, etc. It is more of the numbers and job names that are wrong.

My game is scheduled to arrive May 28th, so I can start collecting info early.

UPS first said 6/1 as scheduled delivery date, but then it updated to 5/28 - lucky me! I guess EA can't do much about it after it's shipped and in the hands of the carrier.

Omg, why is Europe always later than America in this kind of things? Time for me to emmigrate to the country of endless possibilities.

The time machine is invented at level 9 of the inventing skill. It gives "travelled through time" moodlet. The guide says that sims who travel to the past have a chance of changing their family history. You will receive a message about an event that was altered. When your sim returns, he can have a new career or skill set. He can get killed in the past and come back as a ghost, also. With WA, he can come back as a mummy.

The guide also says that when your sim comes back, he can be wearing an outfit from a specific time period, or have a piece of art. Maybe even a stone statue or a fish god. (I don't know what that means)

I called EB Games and they told me it ships on 6/01. Other than that, they didn't know much.

OMG, the UPS guy just dropped off my Ambitions game!   
I haven't installed it yet, gosh I haven't even opened the box...I was so excited.
Going over to the EA website to check if anyone has installed the game yet.

O wow, thank you so much for telling me this! I have heard that sims even can woohoo in a timemachine and that than right after that moment some person can ring the bell, claiming to be the kid of the two sims. That person can even be older than the parents.
Can sims create a paradox? Maybe the question is needless now, because when they change something they will come back different, but I'm curious anyway. And if so, can we maybe create some twinbrother paradox? I don't know if you are familar with it but otherwise I always could explain you.

Congrats!  Please tell us about the update that supposed to happen...I think it comes when you install your game.

I am so drooling right now.   I will have to wait til Tuesday to pick up pre-ordered copy...shoot!
