New and Looking for a House
« on: October 16, 2011, 09:53:20 PM »
Hi I'm new here, (Que the applause) and I am looking for an 8 person house. I currently am managing a 7 person family and it's getting pretty cramped, plus my main female is expecting. I can't build to save my life so if someone could show me a good house for this situation I'd be very grateful. Also please note that I only have the base game and nothing else. Thank you!

Also, feel free to request a home by PMing me! Always happy to help.

Hey guys I'm taking an extended hiatus... again. I'm out of ideas to build houses and I don't have as much fun designing homes like I used to; it feels more like a chore. So that's where I'll be, I will probably be back sometime. :P

Here's one.

Rosewood 2.0

I think it's only 4 bedrooms, but you can probably turn the Gym into a bedroom and maybe split one of them into two rooms or something.

Sorry, this probably wasn't much help. :(

I built Rosewood and it has 8 bedrooms, many of which have 2 beds in them - great for lots of kids who want to have slumber parties.  However, it also include content from LN, WA, and Amb.  I don't know if they would be traded out for comparable base game items if you were to download it.

Ack! Sorry! :-[
I read somewhere on the thread that it only had 4. I'm really sorry.

Thanks to everyone. Unfortunately for the Rosewood I can't download it because of all the expansion pack stuff. Hopefully I'll be getting some of those packs soon.

Ahh, I was afraid of that.  You might want to look in this thread.  It is full of house shells that are all built and just need decorating and furnishing.  That would eliminate the problem of EP/SP content in some of the larger houses on the Swap Shop.

The house ZapKid built is an excellent option, but I'm not sure of the content.  Lastly, there is also a thread where you can request a custom build if you can't find anything else that will work for you.

Yes, it would.  If there is no comparable item (i.e. a hot tub and the person downloading doesn't have LN or ODLS), it just drops the items from the lot.  I've never actually heard of someone having issues because a downloaded house has items that they don't have in their games.  So, in theory...it's safe to do so.
