Riverview is a free bonus town you get when you purchase The Sims 3.  It's downloaded from the official Sims 3 website.

Even if you bought the game online and downloaded it, you would have received an email containing the key code of the game.  This is the code you need to create an account on the official Sims 3 site, which will allow you to download Riverview.

Congratulations, haha! There are also a few other free things at the store if you look around.

It's just too bad Riverview isn't as much fun as Sunset Valley. It just seems so...flat.

I am glad you are legal, Tom. Enjoy Riverview, the fishing there can be beautiful along the banks, especially at dawn or dusk.

I made a rules thread just tonight that actually addresses the issue when people aren't playing legal copies. I prefer they keep that to themselves, as I'm not out to solve the problems of folks who do pirate. I think there should be some limitations when they don't buy the game.

I only mentioned this because the possibility that your dilemma was due to piracy came up, and this thread will be a good reference to legal folks who want to download the addon :)

PJSim, I know it looks flat.  And the weird thing is that almost all workplaces are beside each other! That annoys me a bit.  Well, at least I will have fun and try to be an author or something.  I'm not sure.  Probably an astronaut. :)  Well, I have plenty of choices.  :)

Another reason not to speak off illegal stuff.
If it gets mentioned a lot, search engines will pick this site up if you search for said illegal stuff.

I've noticed some people have been talking about Riverview. How do I get this town? Do I need to download it from somewhere?

[Edit:  I merged your topic with another topic that discusses Riverview.  You may find some answers in what has already been posted.  -Pam]

Or you could check out the 'Free Stuff at the Sims 3 Store' thread here on the board under 'General Discussion' :)

OK maybe I'm too good for my own good lol. this is the second forum I have read recently that talked about pirating games. I don't really wanna know how, I'm just wondering why people do this? Same way with movies! If you can't or don't want to get them legally, what is the point in getting them at all?? I'm sorry, but when they ask if you get the game legally, until now I would have said is there another way? I guess I just don't understand people!
