fertlising omni plants

I have one omni plant at the moment (my first one) and it is at the growing stage. When i press fertlise, it only comes up with food and fish to fertlise the plant but I thought that you could fertlise omni plants with more than just food and fish. Can someone help me please, does it get a special interaction when it is mature or something.

Actually, fertilizing is not the thing you want to do. Wait until it becomes mature, then choose the "feed" option. You will then get to choose from a list of things in your inventory.

thanks, I thought it would be something like that. What does fertilising do then? my seed is perfect anyway, does it just increase the value of harvested goods

Fertilizing shortens the amount of time for it to grow to mature, and when it is mature it shortens the time between when you can harvest.

Personally I don't fertilize it, but I don't fertilize any of my plants.
