Moveobjects on Question
« on: March 02, 2010, 07:27:09 AM »
Are there any objects you take take apart beside the fireplace using the moveobjects on cheat?

I like using it on the fireplace sometimes to delete the chimney to have the fireplace but the chimney don't fit into my house design.

I have never heard about the chimney thing and I don't know of any others but I doubt there are many.

I just found out about the chimney by accident. I was moving some stuff around with moveobjects on and I went to move the fire place and it came apart. Didn't know what was happening :)

After playing around I found out I could delete the chimney and have just the fireplace and it still worked alright.

Each part of it can be removed like this.

If you took it apart and lit it, will it work and will smoke come out of the top piece?  :o

Yep that's a tutorial I read in the creative corner on the sims 3 site.  Pretty cool!  I had a huge house and could put in back-to-back fireplaces, one in the living room and one in the dining room...2 fireplaces, one chimney. ;D

As a physicist by nature, I just get a headache from looking at that! ;D Very creative game manipulation I must say.

You want to take a picture that includes the user interface? I don't know if you can do that within the game. On a Mac you can take a screenshot in any application by pressing command-shift-3. I don't know how to do it with Windows.

panels?  Not sure what that is.  Take a screen shot?  Does that mean the same thing?

I assumed "panels" was referring to the user interface at the bottom of the screen that shows motives, relationships, inventory, etc. When I take a picture in-game with the camera icon it never shows the user interface. If I use the system command for a screenshot (instead of the in-game screenshot) it will take a picture of everything on my screen.

Okay, I get it now.
On a PC, press the PrtScn (print screen) button and then paste it in Paint or Notepad or something and save it.
