Sims can't be romantic in Bridgeport
« on: October 04, 2011, 11:42:26 PM »
I hope that sounds ok  ??? I just started a new game in Bridgeport this weekend because I haven't played there in a long time. For the first couple of our days everything was fine. She could ask about their signs, if they were single, etc. Then today, Neither one can be romantic or hopelessly romantic with each other. The most I got was "have private wedding".  Everything else comes up but that. Yes for my everyday reg, general play I have mods, but not for Challenges or Dynasty, they are in a file asleep elsewhere.   ;D

But this has had me stumped all day and I can't figure it out.  ???

Are you saying they can't kiss or hold hands or anything? And how can they "have private wedding" if they're not romantically involved? Does their relationship show a red heart? A red heart means they are "romantic interests".

Are you using mods in this specific game? Because if yes then I would assume that that is the problem.

No they can not do any thing that is romantic. At least nothing that is clickable from my end. I did get the "have a private wedding" that was all. I don't understand it. I pull out a saved game that I moved to my external harddrive that was in Bridgeport and it plays nicely. All my other saves in all the other towns work fine even with mods.

I've even taken the mods folder out and played it and still nothing. I tried moving them to a new home thing maybe it was the apartment. Still the same thing. I am going to do a clean out and reinstall all my EPS and SP's sometime this weekend. So  hopefully that will fix it.

Is it that the romance socials show up, but the other person takes them negatively? Because I am having the same problem if it's like that.

::) I found out the hmm *clears throat* problem.  My female, well, she has other intentions then I do as to who she wants to date and marry.  :-[ She is not into men. I downloaded a new world off the exchange the other day made almost from the sims1 or 2. So I decided this morning to try it out. I placed houses, lots, families, etc. Then I put the same girl in, started playing. On sat, she throw a party and I tried to get her to flirt and be romantic with a guy. She would not do it. After the sign and single option, it all went away.

So I let her have her freedom. WOW, she went right up to her boss, and started  flirting and the love started flying. +'s everywhere, smiles. Hand holding, flirting you name it. So I click on friendly and "ask ___ abut their sexual perference came up. The boss is gay. Ok fine, not a biggie. So she asked her move in. Now I have control of the boss and had her ask the same question. She gave the same answer! WOW!

Unbelievable, here I thought my game was messed up and all because she wants to date other women. LOL no problem girl, just give someone a heads up next time. My hubby is rolling in the floor laughing at me.

Wow, is there a feature like that in the game? I mean "Ask about sexual preference". I never came across that one. Is it from a mod?, because I never heard about set sexual preferences in this game, I assumed they really not have one but naturally can flirt with anyone if they please.
Sounds funny tho!

I'm pretty positive that's a mod.

It's got to be a mod. The only thing in the whole Sims Series that even comes CLOSE to that was a cheat in TS2 where you could force someone to tell you their Gender Preference.

EDIT: (A popup would come up saying "My gender preference is xy")

Plus it seems a little pushing the games teen rating, not to mention stretching the forum rules.

I'm trying to figure out where it is tied in so I can readjust something or just plain remove it. I don't want to push the rules or my game. I like my girl sim that I play to stay straight because 99% of the time it's my simself and bring in my hubby simself at some point. But we either lock this or I can just delete it. No biggie since I found the problem.

That is funny! But, I think many sims in Bridgeport are bisexual, because I've seen males and females cuddling on benches. Some are married to someone else and others aren't; but love to flirt with both sexes. Must be the town?
