My vote is to continue unofficially, Pam. You've never been into the challenges like me and some of the other hardcore players who always "go for the gold." That's not you. And though it is a nice feather in the hat to make it into the Hall of Fame, the bottom line is — you're a great writer, and that's what this is all about — your story that everyone is really enjoying. :)

That's true about the tournament challenges, but these Dynasty challenges are what I love.  I'm proud to be in the Hall of Fame for the Immortal Dynasty, especially since it was my first attempt.  It would have been nice to have a repeat performance for this one.

Personally, I think you should continue with the story, as an unofficial dynasty. Then you can use the non heir, or Skittles first born as a dynasty founder.

None of the Sims born in this family would qualify for any Dynasty founder.  In the Immortal Dynasty, it has to be a Sim we create in Create-A-Sim.  In the Townie DecaDynasty, the founder has to be an existing townie.  I'm saving them to my bin, though, so I can use them in other games and put in the Swap Shop.

I'd like to see you do it officially Pam. To me official dynasty attempts have a differnt feel than unofficial ones, and I'd really like to see you get into the Hall of Fame again.

Pam, I think it's pretty clear that your readers would be sad to see this story end.  But the real question is, what feels to you like the right thing to do?  Because you're the one who would be putting your time into playing the game and writing the story.  If you think you'd be happy continuing on with the knowledge that this is an unofficial dynasty, that's what you should do.  If you would find it more satisfying to know that at the end your DecaDynasty will be in the Hall of Fame, then I think you should cut your losses and start over.  Either way, your readers will be here eagerly awaiting developments.

I agree with Schip. I feel bad enough for being the person to have pointed this all out, but if you think you will really enjoy that satisfaction from HoF, then maybe you should cut your losses. This is only the first generation, after all. We readers will love whatever you do, so this one is really all about what you want. Personally, I would love it if you continue, and I would love it just as much if you start over. You've got a knack for writing, and I think just having your name on it should make readers happy and make you proud. :)

Pam, your story is great and I have enjoyed reading it, but if you want to go for HoF, then you need to go for it.  Either start over with the same theme or put the little guys away for a bit, start a new story and then go back to the other one unofficially, at some point in time.  Like the others said, ulitmately, it is what you want to do and like to do.  We will read your stories either way.  Good luck in whatever you decide. :)

I'm sort of leaning toward starting a new DecaDynasty.  I remembered that my Swap Shop is bugged and I can't consign anything.  And, honestly, Skittles isn't doing very well with her moving requirements.  I didn't do as good a job as I should have by having so many babies and not focusing enough on Skittles when she was a Child and a Teen.  I've started a new file and I'm going to see how it goes as far as keeping the story as close to the first one as possible.  Christopher has had his makeover and is in China to make some money.  Maybe I won't have to dump all the chapters, just pick them up when the story takes on its own life.  Like when the first child is born.  I'd like to keep the candy name theme.  I've got a list of many candy names that I can still use.  :)

I think that you should continue unofficially, Pam. This is a great story, and it would be sad to see it go so soon. Although, an official DecaDynasty may be more rewarding in the end. Whichever decision you make, I'll definitely continue reading. :)

EDIT: A fresh start sounds like it's for the best. Good luck!

It's going well.  Christopher and Zelda are engaged!  He really does like her.  So far, it's all pretty much the same as the first story.  The firstborn might come a day or two earlier this time because Zelda was already targeted to be the spouse.

Pam, I am so sorry you have to start again. I know it is too late now but my vote would have been for you to restart rather then carry on with an unofficial dynasty as I know how proud you were to get in the dynasty hall of fame.

This incident shows just how difficult these dynasty challenges are.

Aw, I've just read that you're restarting, Pam. I'm sorry about what happened with Stevie, it was an easy mistake to make.

Good luck with attempt number two! I'll be looking forward to hearing details! :D
