Nervous and screaming sim
« on: October 01, 2011, 06:34:42 PM »
Ever since my immortal sim got back from vacation she has been very difficult to get to do anything because she spends most of her time doing a nervous movement and muttering as if she is worried about something. Sometimes she will throw she hands in the air while doing a squat and yelling. Eventually she will perform the first thing in her queue but then return to the nervous muttering and screaming before proceeding to the next item.  The behavior also seems to be contatious as well her husband come into the room he will start yelling & squatting together. Even the simbot will join in with all 3 of them (which was kind of funny the first, but now it's never annoying) the intensity comes and goes,ie how long she does it before moving on, but never completely goes away.  I have tried resetsim multiple times to no avail. I had thought it might be due to several long standing wishes like have a baby, but after fulfilling all of those she continues.

Help I about to give up the character and just focus on the others, but due to the contagiousness she will have to separated or released from the household.

One of my vampires started doing that after she had one too many drinks in Brdigeport. It hasn't stopped. She'll walk around Bridgeport and freak out randomly.

Are they Party Animals or Neurotic? The screaming sounds like an animation of theirs.

She's a Party Animal, Lucky, Bookworm, Great Kisser, Perceptive. And it was on that last trip that I added Party Animal. Then again she also learned mixology and had been going to the bars in Bridgeport. So ya'll are saying my sim in a juicaholic jonesing for a party?

Party animals do throw their arms in air and yell, but I don't think they act nervous :P

And also, has anything negative happened recently? I may be thinking of TS2, but I think sims with negative memories (even without GEN) will be nervous.

In my present game I'm having a similar issue. Sims without the neurotic "freak out" action are doing that everytime they enter the Grind. Can't figure out why.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the action is when they yell, squat down and grab their hair...the freakout the neurotics do from time to time.  I think there's a glitch that happens and the action is repeated over and over.  Have you tried resetting the sim/sims that are doing this?  Might help, hope so anyway. :)

Edit:  Ah, just reread and you have tried resetting.  :P  Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Well I have tried sending her to the bars, parties, reading books, and even just letting her do whatever she wants to no avail.  I have considered that this is more like a neurotic or insane traited sim with the possibility that something is troubling her. Being an immortal (having eaten ambrosia twice at least) her friends are starting to die off about one ever few days, but she has the stonehearted LTW and therefore never gets the brokenhearted/mourning moodlet. Her husband had a discrete affair in Shang Simla which I though she might somehow be bothered about. I playout him confessing and a few days cooling off and a reconciliation none of which changed her behavior. Is it possible to have a hidden trait of neurotic or insane?

I also removed the Party Animal and replaced it with Artistic but no change other than she will eventually start painting if left to her own devices.

Honestly I'm at my wits end. Is there a bug reporting mechanism where I can send my save?

Try changing all of her traits to something like good, artistic, friendly, lucky, and charismatic.

that way if the problem stops than you know it's a trait problem.

If you don't play a challenge, you can put her on the clpboard in edit town and place her back in the house. It cure the running bug.

Is there any electrical items in the room(s) where your sims do this?  Could they be broken?

I saw my sims do this the other day to a trash compactor I hadn't realised was broken.  I got the sim with the highest handiman skill to fix it, and he still had one freakout after it was fixed.  After that they were all fine again.

I copied her to the clipboard and back.  This did correct her behavior but when I attempted to happily save the game got the dreaded Error 12!

Is it possible to have too much stuff either in your sim's inventory or the household lot/inventory? She has over a dozen skeleton keystones in her inventory which cannot be removed or grabbed in any way. How could this effect her behavior? Or is she just a malformed object with dangling references? I'm beginning to conclude this is a lost game.

I will check for damaged electrical equipment, but she behaves this way anywhere on the lot, but not when she goes to parties. Maybe she is just a party girl after all ;)!
