Omni Plant
« on: February 28, 2010, 09:49:42 PM »
I found a way to get the omni plant without having to do the special event. You can spawn it using buydebug cheat, then going to the spawners for plants, and placing one on your lot.

I have already done that, I fed them once and now I cannot get the option to feed them again, so Pam suggested it might be that it does not work because of the cheat, so I am almost done with the last stage of getting the seeds and growing them myself, so will see if there is a difference.  Not sure if anyone else that has gotten then without the cheat has the same problem, but will find out soon.

I haven't had that problem. In fact, I haven't had any of the problems people have posted.

Knock on wood! Lol, jk, unless you're superstitious, but yeah, I've noticed that I've also had very few of the problems that many people have posted, and it might be because of you're OS, or specs, or maybe just a lucky game. Anyway, I hope that your luck stays good with the Sims!

I guess different problems arise for different people.  There are alot of other things that people experience that I don't, so I guess this is no different.  After all of this time I had never gotten the opportunity for the omni plant, so that is the only reason why I used buydebug and the fact I wanted butterflies in my yard.  Good luck to all.

The only thing bad about using buydebug for plants, is that they are normal. My sims gardening is all the way up. When I maxed it out, it said I could grow omni plants.

I think the Omni plant can only be fed once, it produces that thing until it dies.

At least for the Onmi plants that I grow from seeds, I can feed them something different every day and it will reproduce whatever I feed it.

I fed mine once with frogs and once with crocodiles.  When I mouse over the plant it says it needs to be harvested, but there is nothing on there, so I will just wait until I get my seeds.

To be honest I don't remember, possibly a thread on the Sims 3 site, sorry I can't remember that!  :-[

Did you harvest anyway? You might see if something is added to your Inventory. Could be just a graphic glitch that you can't see a harvestable.

I've fed a book to the public Omni plant in Riverview and have not yet had an option to harvest it.  It said it was ready to harvest when I moused over it but when I clicked on it there was no harvest option only view, talk to, check diet and re-feed.  I'm starting to think that it's a problem with Omni plants placed by spawners whether by EA or by players.

Ok, thanks.  I was wondering if it was from your own personal experience or if it was a rumor you read somewhere.  Looks like it's a rumor.
