As for the swap shop contents
« on: September 29, 2011, 10:53:38 AM »
I'm from other country and I have a sims3 community there too. But the most people of the community in my place are not good at English and they don't know here. Actually, many works in Swap Shop are fantastic and I really love them. So I have a question here. Am I allowed to introduce the items to my Asian members or are they only for the members here? I tried to find the rule for this but didn't find yet. But you know I don't want to make a mistake any more like before so I'd like to hear the rule for this. If I'm not allowed, then I will keep the rule whatever it is.:) Thank you! :D

I think choice would go back to creators, you have my permission to post any lot, as long as you keep credits, and link back to me for those who know English

Do you mean that just put the link of your works onto my place and put the link of my community onto here? Sorry I didn't understand 'link back to you for whose who know English'.

He meant you should ask the creator of whichever item you want from the shop for permission to post it somewhere else, and when posting you should include the credits (name of person who created) and a link back to the item's page in the swap shop.

Oh ok yeah sure. I believe it's the basic manner and it's the same in my country too. I always respect the creator's copyrights! :)

I'm just going to go off-topic long enough to answer this::

I always respect the creator's copyrights! :)

The items in the Swap Shop aren't "copyrighted", but they're really protected by a code of chivalry - I trust you won't download my things and upload them as your own.

Back ontopic:-
Most regular creators have a thread for their creations. In this, the creator will state their policy on downloading and reuploading content - for instance, I allow it, provided you say I am the creator, and preferably link back to me (though that's optional for me).

Do you mean that you would like for your friends to come here to download items?  Or do you mean you wish to host them on your own site?  I think this would make a difference in getting you a correct answer.

Yes I'm planning to give the link here to them, and let them download here directly. Also I'm planning to mention the Creator's name too. The only one poor point is that most of them speak English very little. So I guess they might understand the descriptions for your items, partly, not whole. So I'm going to give them a hint which file they can download. That's all I'm going to do. :)

Oh ok. I think I understood about the copyright in the wrong way. Anyway, I'm absolutely sure I just want to introduce this community and the good items here.:) Also in my place, we have the same rule as well. I'm not allowed to upload the item files directly but to put the link for here on it. :)
