Is there a way to filter spawner names in CAW?

In CAW if you turn on the spawner names in the view menu it shows the names on all spawners. Is there a way to filter this so it just shows the names of 1 type of spawner? Like showing the names only on the insect spawners.

Yes, there is a filter in which you type in what you want to filter, so typing fish should filter only fish spawners and few more objects that have "fish" in it's name. It is just under Metadata.

That gives a list in Metadata but all the spawner names still show on the map view. I was wanting to filter the name tags shown on the map view to one type.

I'm not understanding now what you are asking.
In CAW all spawners are shown as boxes, even in live mode in Edit Town. And you can't see them from town view as tags - as far as I know. Only way to see tags for spawners in town is in game, with Collector Helper LTR set to "fish". There you can't filter them.
Are you saying you can see tags for fish spawners in CAW, or in Edit in Game part of CAW, or in actual game? I would love to check where I put spawners in CAW, if it is possible:)

EDIT:
I see what you meant, and I don't know if it is possible. Because it is a full name, not a tag I never use that, makes it messy, and you confused me with "tag" when it is a full sentence in my game:)

Sorry for the confusion.
I agree that it's messy when you have the spawner names checked especially when you zoom out on the world. That's why I was wondering if there was a why to filter which ones show instead of all of them.
To help clarify what I'm after here's a picture from CAW with the spawners names turned on. It show the name on all spawners. I was wonder if you could filter this someway.

Can you edit the EA worlds as they appear at the start of your game? That is, I've been wondering for a while, and it would be a much more accurate way of pinpointing spawners on a map if you looked at them in CAW. I assumed they would show up like the boxes do in buydbug, and if I could get mine to work (it never ran when I downloaded and I'm not in the mood for troubleshooting EDIT: I saw the post about changing the version numbers and that is nice and easy. I wasn't in the mood for reinstalling, and glad I don't have to!) I would go through them myself and do maps for the other towns to update the guide (someone else has started on that project now though).

It would be handy to know how many of each type of spawner each different map has, for balance sake when creating a new world, and even for play strategy. If a certain map has more of a particular spawner (ideally the high ones, like pink diamonds, rainbow beetles/butterflies, special seeds) it would prove to be a strategically better map to use for certain challenges. I've played sunset valley enough to be able to pinpoint most of the exact spawner types now anyway, but that's what puts me off playing the newer maps: working out where all the spawner points are.

Yee, more CAW players:)

Now for first question - no you can't do that without excessive use of mods and other applications which proves to be very unstable. Only way to figure that out is what you described about SV - play for long enough to be able to know that. (or move in your happy Sim with collector helper, make needs static and teleport around  noting what you find where) Still, it is most important to know about the number of special and (very) rare spawners - for example, in first challenge this year I find approximately 13 spawning points for special seeds, maybe even 15, in SV.
In CAW, spawners are looking like little boxes with circles around if you don't turn on this marker. And you can know exact number of each of them too - each spawner you place in world is listed in "game objects" as are trees, rocks, effects and lots and everything else you put in the world. This marker is handy to let you see how spawners are scattered around town but after awhile it stops being helpful and makes it hard to work with a world. I played with this just last night and easiest way I find was to start with spawners that have the largest list - I started with bugs and butterflies - place one or two rainbow type, and increase the number of spawners for next type approximately. Number of common and uncommon spawners is not that important  except that you don't want to put too much of them for smoother gameplay, and they don't have to be all over the map - when sculpting the world you'll get the idea where is the best place for a plutonium and palladium spawners, or for a rainbow butterfly, where should be more bugs, and where more rocks etc. I placed fish spawners last - since they are the only one placed in water, and meteor ones too - there are only 4 spawners for meteors.
Naga provided us with a list of what gems, fish and butterflies are spawned under which category.

Also, note that Barnacle Bay don't have any special seed spawners, and that Bridgeport have LN Spawners that other towns don't have, so there is no universal standard for number and placement of spawners, but majority use SV as a standard.

That was my plan - SV as a standard, but comparing it with the other towns to see how many more/less they have of differnt types. I want a well rounded town that is as balanced as SV but with the addition of the extra spawners. It may mean replacing a few spawners, or it may mean adding a few, depending on what my research turns up. I've actually got that very list that Naga made bookmarked (had it opened until I had to close a few tabs 'cause I had too many!) because I saw how useful it could be instantly.
I'm guessing I'm going to have to do as you suggest: Get my sim who has the collection helper and teleport about collecting things and taking notes. I might as well find that post about building the guide for other towns and sign up. I may even be able to add a bit to the current one for SV with the number of specific types of spawners.

When you unlock the challenges for collecting, does it unlock extra spawners? Or make them spawn more often?
